I've used bare minerals since the Christmas before last. My mom gave me a giftcard that had enough on it to get the full little kit so I didn't experience the expense firsthand. I personally like it. If you get the right brush, it did give me full coverage. I have moderate to severe acne and it comes with big, dark, black scars mostly covering my forehead, cheekbones, and chin. Just a few brush strokes made them basically disappear, which had me surprised. I couldn't find anything that covered them. Of course mineral powder is good for oily skin like myself, but it does sometimes make your skin dry and make it flake a little (on the cheeks for me). And the white powder that absorbs excess oil works miracles. It also makes your skin looks healthy and glow. I've gotten multiple compliments. Be careful about that powder though. Too much could cause you to look pale.

My best friend gave me her bare minerals because the color was much to dark for her (apparently "white" isn't one of their shades) I was so excited cause it matched my slightly tanner skin tone perfectly.

However, the next day my face was really red and hurt. My face felt like i had severe wind burn all over it. this went on for several days and then my face broke out worse than when i was on hormone therapy. I will never never never put that stuff on my face again.

Did you get MATTE ? Matte has a fuller coverage because it doesn't contain the bismuth oxychloride. It's more pigmented so for me I can definitely get a full coverage with it. I do think that it can make you look powdery if you don't use a good moisturizer under it. It doesn't make me look pale no matter how much I put on of it because I have the right color for my skin tone. And I do have some acne scarring.

But the original formula wasn't full coverage for me unless I spot concealed with another dense brush and then did a nice layer of the original which wasn't a big deal to me. What was the big deal was the bismuth oxychloride in it that broke me out like it does many people that seriously have acne prone skin.

Yep. You are probably allergic to the bismuth oxychloride in the original formula just like I am. The matte formula doesn't contain it and I've used that for a long time with no problems. And have pretty sensitive acne prone skin. Frankly, I think their matte formula is just point blank better than their original.

I have used bare minerals, and I love the blush and eye shadow more so than the foundation. I bought the smaller starter kit and still have plenty of everything but the mineral foundation left.

My newer favorite mineral makeup is glominerals. It's recommended by dermatologists and plastic surgeons for use during the recovery process. I love the moisture spray that you use with the pressed mineral foundation. It helps the makeup soak in and look natural. The hardest thing for me was learning which moisturizer to use before I apply the foundation. It makes a huge difference.

Which brush do you use? I get really dark acne scars also that take more than 3 months to fade...so annoying...

I think their products are great and well worth the price because of all the natural ingredients it contains it is much less likely to cause breakouts and your skin will look very natural and beautiful. I do not think the eye makeup is worth the money however the foundation and stuff is AMAZING!!!

This explains why sometimes my face would break out for the past year! I bought the starter kit of Bare Minerals last July and I will say I'm satisfied with how long the kit lasted. But that's the extent of my positive review. The kit came with two foundations, one matte and one original. I started using the original and then switched to the matte bc I didn't feel the original had enough coverage nor did it help the shine from my oily skin.

I know this makeup is recommended for oily skin, but honestly I don't think it's for me. Some days I go in the bathroom at work and my face just looks like it's caked with foundation even though I barely put any on in the morning! I think when my face gets oilier throughout the day this makeup makes my face look worse.

It's also really difficult to remove (to me). I can wash my face with a good cleanser and then take a cotton ball with mild astringent and wipe on my face and the cotton ball will be brown from all the makeup left before after I wash my face! Disgusting. No other makeup has left behind so much product in my pores before.

Bare minerals is amazing!!! Contrary to what others say, yes you can get a full coverage. You just have to learn how to apply it. That's super important. Go on YouTube and watch "loveshelby" videos. She does a ton of bare minerals videos and she's fantastic. I love the original foundation and mineral veil so much. I would recommend the customizable starter kit. It's what I started off with and I love it

I love full coverage makeup so I bought the BareMinerals READY foundation, the compact one (not loose powder). I love it. You can try it at any BareMinerals boutique, Ulta or Sephora. Be aware that you'll have to buy a shade darker that your usual shade. The blush-on is great as well.

I hated Bare Minerals. It made me break out, and it came off on all my clothes. Made my face feel really nasty too. I was highly disappointed.

I don't know why it made you break out, but I know that the way you apply it is super important. "Loveshelby" on YouTube is a bare minerals genius. If you use bare minerals or are thinking about it, watch her videos

I love bareMinerals Ready Foundation. You have to go a shade or two darker than you would with the Original Foundation. It's best to get matched.

After about 13 years of acne this is the only foundation that doesn't clog pores or cause new acne. I've literally tried everything before, so I know it works. I would recommend to anyone.
