Default EYEBROWS.....ugh

So just another girl suffering from over plucked eyebrows. I've been trying to grow them in since DECEMBER!!!! Very frustrated. Only my one eyebrow Has a huge chunk missing. I had to part my hair on the opposite side of my face to hide it. I'm penciling and eye shadowing it in but it still looks horrible. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Get some Latisse (prescription eyelash growth medicine). I use it on ny lashes and brows, and all my bald spots have filled in with hair regrowth.

Has anyone tried castor oil or know where to get it at? Also should I get pure castor oil or I've seen the castor oil hair treatments?

I've never used castor oil on my eyebrows, but I'ved used it to regrow part of my hair line that I burnt off (long story). Worked like a charm! Most people use Jamaican Black Castor oil, which you can get at health food stores or online. I used the stuff I got at the drugstore (it's in the laxative asile) and it still worked (it might work faster with the JBC-I don't really know what the specifics behind the process are).

nightly. make sure you don't drip it on your face. You should see the bald spot fill in after about 2-3 weeks.

castor oil works and is cheap. rogaine and latisse are good too but i think more expensive. i'm taking viviscal supplements which are for hair growth. i think it's making my hair grow more all over. my lashes are longer for sure!!

I have a patch in my eyebrows that has never grown back. oh well. If you apply your brow pencil before your powder it tends to blend in a bit better.

Rogaine is generic now, and therefore quite cheap. I had no luck with it though. I have had great success with Latisse. I have seen no proof that a castor oil does anything for hair growth. Lots of women use castor oil for cleaning their face, and I haven't heard of an epidemic of facial hair growth from it.

I've heard castor oil works but I've never tried it. I wash my face with extra virgin olive oil at night (it works really well to take off makeup) and that has seemed to help my eyebrows. Just be careful around your eyes! Extra virgin Olive oil is easier to use since it's already in your kitchen and it's really good for your skin. Slide a little bit over both eyebrows and leave it on overnight and they will grow back - you just need to help them. Also, since you're having trouble covering it up until it grows back, I would suggest getting Brow Zings at Sephora. It's a brow kit and the people there can help you out with it. I like it a lot. It covers well and comes with the wax, powder, brushes and mirror all in a little kit. You can even ask them to put it on for you to help you cover it so you can see how you like it. The last time I went to Sephora to buy foundation one of the girls working there was telling me never to get my eyebrows waxed because she did once and her whole eyebrow got ripped off! Scary! It never grew back the same. So she always has to use a bunch of eyebrow products to cover it up and make both eyebrows match. If you don't like Brow Zings, another one I like is at Ulta and it's called Tarte EmphasEYES waterproof Amazonian clay brow mousse. It sounds weird but it works really well. One of the ladies working there put it on for me and it looked really nice. I would try to go to both stores to see which one you like better. And to make sure you don't overpluck again, you should ALWAYS use a pencil or powder or something to make it look like what you want it to and then ONLY tweeze out of the lines. And out of the lines means only underneath the brows. Never tweeze on top! Just go slow when you're tweezing and count 1-2-3-4 to each hair pulled and then step back and look in the mirror. Then if it still doesn't look right, repeat that until it does - but of course, only if necessary! You don't want to pluck two fast because those tweezers could gather hairs that you didn't want plucked so you need to be really careful. Hope I helped! Good luck!!

my threader who sees eyebrows all day everyday routinely recommends castor oil for eyebrow growth, because it works. i have a friend who is indian who says women in their culture commonly use castor oil for hair regrowth. there are numerous articles about hair growth from castor oil. i've got no skin in the game by suggesting castor oil i just hate to see it discounted when many have success stories from it.

rogaine. You can get 1 bottle for under 10$ I use it on my head and brows. For my brows, I use an eyeliner brush to apply it. Using it this way, 1 bottle will last a really long time.

luvmylocs, I'm taking Viviscal too. Haven't noticed an improvement to my brows or lashes yet, but I will be hopeful now that you mentioned it.

I have seen and felt an improvement in my hair though. Reduced shedding and my hair is looking and feeling a bit fuller. It's been about 6 weeks using Viviscal for me.

Back to brows...I get mine threaded. More precise than waxing, IME, so I don't lose more in thickness than I want to. I have Carprost but I can't seem to remember to use it every night anymore. In the beginning when I was more diligent with it, it did seem to help. Now I am back to a few flicks of brow pencil to fill in sparse areas.

Interesting thread. I guess I should try threading...I'm so scared to wax again...and have to regrow my thickness due to overwaxing.

Only place I see threading though is in the middle of the mall..don't really feel like sitting there in a public place for that... I'll have to look around.

I also read in one of my magazines that using lotion or gel can stunt hair growth because it clogs the pores. I did notice a difference when I don't use my eyebrow shaping gel daily.
