Shiny skin from Clarisonic?

I've been using the Clarisonic Mia for almost 2 months now, and I've been noticing that my skin is really shiny. Not oily-shiny, but like polished-furniture-shiny. Is this normal? I don't know if this is the desired result, but I feel like my face is constantly reflecting light from every angle in a way that I don't like.

Has anyone else had this result? Am I overusing it? I use it twice a day, each time for one cycle.

DO NOT use a Clarisonic twice a day!!!

dermatologists report over-use damage with these brushes.

i got mine a month ago and only use it once a day when i'm taking off my makeup at night.

and yes, my skin does look shiny - but i figure it's just super-clean. once i put my makeup on in the morning, it's normal.

Yeah I only use mine once a day...at night to remove makeup. Using it in the morning is sort of over kill since your face isn't THAT dirty...you're just washing off whatever product residue from the previous night and maybe a little oil.

Also, could the shine that you are seeing be because your skin's clarity has improved? Skin that's really smooth w/o the pores and stuff will reflect light...that's the "glow" that folks talk about all the time and spend tons of money to achieve.

I use my Mia just once per week, as a deeper cleaning/exfoliating treatment. I use the white brush (sensitive?) and get shiny skin as well. I also assumed it was due to the effective cleansing and removal of dead skin cells on the surface. The shine is gone a few hours later, and I haven't had it show through my makeup.

Goodness! I guess I am overusing it then! Maybe I'll switch to once a day, and then maybe even less frequently if the shine is still intense.

I thought I replied to this thread already. Oh well. Anywho...my skin hasn't gotten shiny from my Mia. But if it did, I'd just assume it was polishing my skin and smoothing it out. Not a bad thing, to me.

I only use mine at night as well. I didn't notice shininess, but my skin cannot handle being washed twice a day so I never even tried it with the Clarsonic.

I only use mine at night. I don't notice any extra shine just soft clean skin. I think if you have a very light hand with it you may be able to use it twice a day, especially if you have the delicate brush and use minimal pressure but I don't see a need to use it in the morning.

If your skin is shiny then you're over exfoliating and that can lead too scarring. You should only use your Clarisonic at night.
