Default Can BHAs and retinols be used in same beauty regimen?

This question has probably been asked before, but since I can never get the search feature to work for me, I thought I'd ask here.

Do BHAs and retinols do the same thing? They both exfoliate, but I think retinols also stimulate cell turnover. I have a daily moisturizer that has retinol in it, but I also use BHA in the early morning. Can I layer these two products?

Thanks.

Yes they can be used together. According to Paula Begoun, retinols dont exfoliate. They are a cell communicating ingredient and help with cell turn over. BHA's are a chemical exfoliant and are anti-inflammatory and anti- bacterial. Unlike AHA, BHA cleans out the pore. You use the BHA before the retinol product.
