Green tea....

Hi guys! I recently read that Green tea has benefits for your body. One thing it is meant to do is improve your skin? Does anyone have any experiences with using or drinking green tea that benefitted them? Thanks for sharing!! :)

I drink green tea every day. Have done for years. I think there are many health benefits to drinking it, but I do not think it does much for the appearance of my skin. I still have acne troubles.

I drink green tea and have problem skin. I drink green tea several times through out the day.

But please do report back with your progress.

So far nothing apart from needing to pee more!!! I have only been drinking it for a week, and I'm sure it does alot inside, but so far no improvement in skin, i think it is better to have green tea in products and that is when it benefits your skin. Xx

Drinking green tea had no visible effect on my skin or hair. I guess it helps from the inside. I would take my used tea bag and wipe my face with it and wash it off after half an hour. I did this for two weeks but with no visual effect , so I quit doing it. But I still drink it.
I guess maybe in the long run it will prove beneficial. I have heard green tea helps soothe the skin after exposure to the sun, when applied topically. Thats all I know about green tea .
HTH :)

As far as i know Green tea boosts up our metabolism and postpones the ageing process... I hav been drinking it for 3 yrs..

Green tea has numerous benefits: from helping your metabolism to work faster, improving your digestion and deconstructing fat much faster; to preventing diseases due to presence of antioxidants that ward off germs and bacteria, to helping lower cholesterol and blood pressure.

My Opinion.

Yes, You are right. I am also know about it. I also try it and found very good results, feel great changes. According to me green tea is most effective to weight loss. It also make our skin smooth and fair. Must try it.

Iv been drinking it for two years and love it, it definitely helps me to maintain a healthy weight. I use it as a toner after cleansing sometimes and 2 used green tea bags over the eyes really helps reduce puffiness and dark circles. As for my skin it hasn't helped it clear up like I hoped but the antioxidants in the tea should help slow the ageing process.

If you suffer from hormonal acne in the chin area try spearmint tea, it is supposed to help lower androgens(breakout causing hormones)

Green tea has done absolutely nothing for me health wise.

The good thing about drinking green tea is that you aren't drinking something with caffeine in it.

Fifi.G 12-23-2013 05:41 AM

As others have said, many health benefits are reported from drinking it but I have not heard of radical changes in appearance. More of a preventative measure, in some aspects, perhaps.

It is good for an eye treatment. Making a strong batch of green tea, freezing it into ice cubes, wrapping that (well) in a gauze and gently applying to puffy eyes helps reduce swelling and pep up the eye area.

I have to say blueberries bring about one of the biggest physical changes I have seen. If you start a very healthy diet, drink lots of water, and snack on blueberries, you will notice a difference.

Nooooo. Green tea DOES have caffeine--as much as a Coke, actually. The good thing about drinking green tea is that you're drinking water, and not a ton of sugar (unless you like syrupy tea...) Water, as everyone knows, is what's great for the skin since the skin is made mostly of water.

I do not know if green tea has any specific benefits for my skin but I know that the antioxidants in there certainly make me feel and look better. I have switched from regular tea and coffee to mostly green tea more than 8 months ago and while it doesn’t provide the same ‘boost’ as coffee did, I do feel healthier and more energetic throughout the day. I also have fewer blemishes and breakouts than I did before

Firefox7275 03-20-2014 05:47 AM

Part of that could well be reducing the amount of caffeine you take in, especially quitting coffee. Excess caffeine puts the body into a state of stress, can spike and trough the blood sugar which affects energy levels, be dehydrating. All can affect skin health.

I drink decaf green tea, and it does wonders for me. Gives me more energy, because I'm not loading myself with tons of cream in coffee which bogs my body down. Can't say it helps with blemishes, but I do feel like it helps clean my body. Of course, a daily healthy diet in conjunction will give you the most benefit. It's supposed to help speed metabolism too. I drank green tea for 2 weeks and changed nothing else, and I dropped 5lbs. I attribute this to a diuretic effect.
