I don't personally have this problem but I saw that you didn't get a response and wanted to try and help.
I did notice something that may be of use to you. I have seen some makeup artists use a lip primer to help even out lip color and lighten it before applying lipstick. There is also this Indian girl who has a youtube channel that I watch and she has darker lips and applies some of her foundation on her lips to lighten and even out the color before applying her lipstick which helps the color show through better.

There are also nude color lipsticks out there so if you find one that matches your skin you could try one of these.
Some people just have naturally darker and more pigmented lips.

without wearing any lipgloss or whatever u get an old tooth brush put vaseline or lipbalm on ur lips then brush them
its basically exfoliates them leaving new skin which is pinker and looks better

I wouldn't really consider her lips dark (maybe it's lighting) but, she uses concealer:

ITA. Her lips look to be a pink color. When I think of dark lips, I think of brown to black lips.

I don't think you can change the color. There are skin bleaching creams that work, but I don't know if they'd be safe for the lips. Best to use concealer or foundation to cover the darkness.

^^I wouldn't use a skin bleaching cream on my face let alone my lips! ITA i don't think they are safe for lips.

I found that if I use concealer on my lips, it changes the color of the lipstick. I don't like that. Although, I have not tried using my foundation (never thought of it either) which is water resistant and has little transfer. i might try that. I have a dark upper lip and a light lower lip (which I think I have sexy lips :D ). It doesn't bother me because the lip colors I wear are pigmented, but this might work for my nudes.

I don't think there is anything to make them lighter because I used to hate mine too. For lipsticks, wearing foundation before applying helps.

Great info ladies! Imma try some this weekend. People say lips are the easiest to lighten b/c the skin is sensitive. I say try skin lightener temp wont do harm. I too have darker upper lips and i just work with it.

Well, they make bleach creams for the anus, so I figured anything's possible.
