Mederma?

Does anybody have experience with this? Please, i have horrible face scars and have for my whole teenage life...I'm now 19 and just want them to go away. Breakouts i can deal with but I'm sick of wearing foundation to even out my skin tone...its so unnatural and i feel smothered by it but with my work, it's best I wear it. I just wanna know if anybody has used it with success..

What are the scars from? Acne? I used to have some acne scarring, but I never used any sort of cream. I found that with exfoliation and moisturizing with this Natural facial mositurizer from Neutrogena and using suncreen before makeup, I've got rid of 95% of the blemishes on my face withing 3 months. I've done this religiously and that's how I got results. Also, not thinking about it helps. Remember, a watched pot never boils.

Not the answer you were looking for but just note to be religious with your regimen and patience is a virtue.

have you spoken to a dermatologist? i don't know how bad your scars are, if they are really bad i've heard of people having dermabrasion to smooth out their skin with great results.
i've used maderma on small scars and it does work, but does take some time.
i think a dermatologist would be the best place to start as he/she can readily assess the scars and know the best remedies.

Mederma hasn't really worked for me.

Yes, acne. I have a tight regimen and it has helped a lot, but i have older ones that my regimen isn't going to help. I did consult a dermatologist and i was told mederma would help smooth them out and fade them as long as i used it daily. I just don't wanna be wasting my money/time. I was told it would take up to 6 months and I'm fine with that as long as it works Ofcourse. I also use bio oil in my regimen and I'm hoping that helps as well but i use that as my moisturizer, should i use something with spf in it? None of my products have spf. I heard the sun can darken post acne marks.

It pretty much looks like that on both sides of my face, this was right after applying mederma for the first time.

Maybe it will work for you ---- I was not a regular user for six months straight.

in my experience mederma does work. it does take time and you do need to apply it daily. i think even 2x/day.
i would then use spf /mositurizer, whatever you use after the mederma has dried.

also, i think scars take a little over a year to fade as much as they will on their own.

what you can do (got this idea from my daughter) is to take photos periodically of your scars. this way you can see the improvement, hard to see it day by day.

I will definitely do that. I've always taken pictures, unfortunately they just seem to be multiplying and i can never tell if old ones fade or not or how quickly or anything because i kept getting new ones. My breakouts are finally pretty much under control though so I'm hoping to see results.

They are to me. :/ I HATE wearing foundation, and no matter what I do, you still see them. I just want them faded. And really the red spots don't bother me half as much as the pitted scars that go into my skin...but there's nothing i can do to change those.

Foundation cloggs your pores and slows the rejuvenation process down..which brand are you using? Is it possible to wear a BB cream or tinted moisturizer instead?

Here's some info http://www.paulaschoice.com/expert-a...ne-scars#marks

Exfoliation, sunscreen and a vitamin a product should help in time. Did your deem mention retin-a?
Merderma improves your scars, but see a major difference. You're going to have to do/use more than just merderma. You'll need to exfoliate and apply sunscreen.

There is this scrub that I used on my face and it has faded most of my acne scars and improved the texture of my skin. The scrub is a baking soda scrub.
All you do is get a spoonful of pure baking soda into your hand and mix it with water/ lemon. You rub the mixture gently onto your face and let it sit on your face until you can't smile (it will tingle a bit and that's normal). Wash it off with cool water and apply a moisturizer right a way because it tends to leave your skin dry. Do this scrub at night because it tends to leave your skin red.

Also the thing about scars is that they need to be protected from the sun since it can darken them even more. When you do your makeup mix any moisturizer you have with your foundation.
Yeah they did, i have a neutrogena night cream that has retina in it but idk if it'll be too much to use it and mederma. Should i apply the cream, let it dry, then use mederma? And i got a neutrogena daily moisturizer and it has spf 15 in it, and my foundation has spf 17, will that be okay? I also exfoliate 2/3 times a week with my st ives or neutrogena microdermabrasion tool thing, but ill try the baking soda. Do you have to add lemon? I don't have any.

Sorry, it has retinol. Not retina.

I swear by my pmd, neutrogena toner, the neutrogena wave, and my trusty old Nadinola cream (miracle worker). I dont use that cream to moisturize though.
It's only been 4 days that ive been applying it, but i swear my spots look lighter to me. I'm gonna stop stressing it and just let them do their thing. I do apply it 3 times a day even though it says to do it once so maybe that's it? Idk. But i appreciate all of your ladies advice, and i am going to start applying a moisturizer in the morning with spf in it before i apply the mederma and my makeup so they stay protected and im going to go on the hunt for a good bb cream. Also, I'm gonna start using my night retinol cream before i apply mederma at night too. And exfoliate more. Thanks! if i should apply the moisturizer after the mederma, let me know. I Googled what would be best and half did it before and half did it after so idk! Lol
