Ok. So I have mascara issues, and need some input!

Most of the time I wear mascara by Just For Redheads. It's ok. It goes on really wet, which can be annoying. I like it about halfway through when it is a little dried out. It doesn't run too badly, either.

But I also like wearing a bolder, darker mascara for dressing up, performing, etc. (usually a "black brown".)

My problem is mascara tends to run on me like crazy. I need a (drugstore) mascara that
-comes in a soft black (brown or gray black)
-DOESN'T RUN
-prefer a washable water proof
-bonus if it lengthens, thickens, and bigger bonus if it curls.


Now for foundation. I loved Cliniques city base cream compact foundation. They discontinued it and have a new one now, but I've yet to try it. Any thoughts??

I also like to use a drugstore version (i use it on "unimportant days" so the expensive one lasts longer). Lately it's been Revlon's new Complexion compact make-up (a cream as well.). I also use Revlon Colorstay liquid for days I'll be outside for long periods of time, or teaching/performing and know I'll sweat a lot.

Any other suggestions? I prefer a cream/compact, but will wear liquid. (Especially for the "color stay" option!)

I've been using Cover FX's compact foundation. I love it because it's foundation and concealer in one. I apply it with a brush and can get full coverage. It's $42 at Sephora but well worth the money if you can spend that much.

I just bought the Almay Get up and grow mascara which was like... I think $8 at Walgreens. It definitely lengthens and voluminizes and my lashes don't have that spidery look to them. It comes in black, brown/black, and brown. No curl though, but I just use an eyelash curler.

I've been using clinique lash power mascara long wearing formula and I rarely smudge and it is buildable without clumps. It isn't waterproof but acts like it, comes off with water and a washcloth.

My foundation of choice lately had been clinique's even better make up, it really evens out my skin tone. I also like smashbox high def foundation

Current rotation includes:

Wash: TIGI Hi Def Curls, LUSH curly wurly

Condition: EVOO mixed with any of the following: TIGI Hi Def Curls, Renpure Red, Nature's Gate Jojoba

I'm very interested in the Clinique stuff - it's just so expensive!


Still in a desperate hunt for a drugstore mascara, waterproof (or resistant), preferably in black/brown, that won't leave dark circles under my eyes. :/

I can't help with mascara, since I only wear clear, if any....

But I have been loving the garnier BB cream for foundation. It's liquid, but it lasts all day and feels very natural on. They have one for dry or normal/oily skin. I use the normal.
