Ulta vs Sephora

Like Tree8Likes

Sephora for me, also online only. I have an ULTA that I can walk to, but I never go in there. To be honest, it was usually the $5-off-$10 or $5-off-$15 that would lure me into ULTA but then I would see that many of the high-end brands that I use were excluded from those coupons, so I stopped going in. And purchased from Sephora instead. I keep a running list of stuff for Sephora so I can get things when they have a VIB event for discounts.

Spider, I got the TooFaced liner; love it. Thanks!

It's a little bit runny by the end of the day on me; does that happen to you?

(I still get a fuller, more subtle line than with anything else, regardless.)

But on the rare nonallergic day, it holds up pretty welll for me. I use MAC Studio Fix on my eyelids first, tho.

I like that it's so easy to use. You can be as simple or as fancy w/ it as you want. And you can correct mistakes w/ a second coat...if you don't mind a little thicker line.

I also agree that the staff at Ulta is not very knowledgeable. I usually do my homework online and know what I want before going in.

On another note, I was told that Sephora is going to start carrying Deva products in-store at some point, she just didn't know when. They already sell them online.

I also feel really bad if I return anything to Sephora. I don't get that feeling if I make a return at Ulta.

I went into Sephora today because I was at the mall. I purchased Sugarbomb Cheek Powder by Benefit. I absolutely love it! After I left the store I was thinking I should have bought this at Ulta because I get 3x the bonus points right now! Oh, well. LOL I need to cut back on my Ulta shopping anyways.

The Sephora here also has Ouidad. I didn't think to check and see if they have DevaCurl yet. Probably because Ulta is my go to the for those products.
Oh Ulta all the way. You can get a majority of all the expensive brand make-up for a huge retail discount. If you shop at Ulta long enough you can became a beauty club card member and get additional discounts as well as some sneak peak perks to new lines that come out. As well as free samples. Sephora is good, but I always shop at Ulta now for all of my higher end cosmetics.
I've only been in Ulta, and just recently for the first time. Blew me away! I can't imagine anything better.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Ugh...the staff at my Ulta have been bugging me lately. They seem so put out. Even about minor things like finding a product. They didn't have the Deva product I was looking for on the shelf (where it's normally located) so I asked if they had any product in back. She said no. Well, I wandered around the store and found it on an end cap. She was so surprised that I found it!

The shelves have been empty and the Manager told me they are really behind. He told me to check back at 7:00 pm (this was at 10:30 am). Seriously, 8 1/2 hours later? It could be this manager. I've never seen the shelves so empty before. The store seems disorganized.

Phew...sorry about venting! I still prefer Ulta as a whole. The variety they offer is hard to beat!
