How's the staying power? Smudging? Always looking for a better eyeliner. Lol!

It stays really well. This Stila marker and the Too Faced 3-way Lash Lining Tool are the best I've tried! Dark black, no fading, never runny.

Too Faced might give you slightly better control but Stila is cheaper. With the Stila, you gotta press firmly and be fairly aggressive in your application. With Too Faced, you can sketch it on gently.

It is indeed good. I've never been able to find an eyeliner that doesn't smudge or generally migrate southwards. This does the job brilliantly, I'm very impressed and it's really easy to apply as well.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for this when I do my after Christmas Ulta trip. I see Stila used in several tutorials. I have wondered about it and still watt to try Avon Super Shock.

*gel pencil rather than marker. it applies so dark, and does not appear to smudge, though I have heard people who wear contacts have problems if the put it on the water line.

Do you mean the whole tube (which is what I am thinking you mean given that you said "dries out") or dries on the eye quickly/need to smudge one eye at a time?

I know Stila was owned by Estee Lauder until sometime in the mid 2000's and switched hands again a few years later. I've heard a few people in the UK say they have a harder time getting it now. They reformulated a lot of stuff each time. I hear some say it's much better and others say some items are worse.

PS- I hear their eyebrow markers are really good as well. You need to fill in with something else but if you have/are willing to take the time you can softly draw in individual hairs. I really don't spend that much time on brows. I was never one who plucked a lot other than bottom strays. I use a tinted gel or do a quick fill of a few spots with powder. Not the biggest pencil or marker fan, but I know many are.

Is it possible to get a natural look with either of these (Too Faced and Stila), or is it for the more dramatic?

I've only tried the Stila eyeliner and it's a very fine tip, so natural is very easy to accomplish.

I've tried several different kinds of eyeliner "markers" and I've found them all to dry out pretty fast. I mean dry out as in run out. Sometimes I can prolong them by running them under water a bit. I really like the Kat Von D eyeliners. I don't think I've tried the Stila one, though.

You can draw a thin line but it'll be jet black and crisp. Not smudgy like a soft pencil.

I bought the Too Faced one, used it twice, and then discovered I'd left the cap unsnapped. Bone dry. User error.

Well, it finally bit the dust this wknd. I had been wearing it for about a week before I posted. So it lasted basically from Dec 7 - Feb 7. One application a dayy, everyday for two months. Do you think that's quickly? I've never really measured this before but I should.

It is a lot cheaper than the Too Faced eyeliner, tho, if that makes a difference.

I think I bought mine around the same time and it's still going ok. I don't use it every day though as I don't bother with make-up if I'm not going anywhere. I've never used an eyeliner like this before, always had pencils which go on forever, so I don't know whether it's quick or not either.

I bought the Stila marker yesterday to try. The sales girl at Ulta recommended it too. I told her I tried Too Faced but it dried out (more my fault for not capping properly) but she said they had other complaints about it drying out too. Hopefully this works out well. I tried it this morning so have to see how it wears long term.

I thought about this thread when I was in Ulta today. I did not get the marker but I bought a beautiful Stila eyeshadow palette called "in the know" that came with a smudge stick waterproof eyeliner in Half Moon. It's a nice smoke color, and I have seen reviews on this particular liner. Dries slow enough to smudge, and completely sets. It seems well loved.

I know the terra cotta color (Fire) is going to look like crap on me but I want to try it. So pretty. Shouldn't have problems with the 3 peachy shades on top.

*I love all the different colors the markers come in. They had some amazing pastels. In fact, pastels were about all they had left. Lol. They had been picked over by what looked like Vultures. I can not blame people. The colors... breath taking!
