Mineral Makeup

Okay, I got the EM samples in yesterday. I tried it today. It feels great and I like the look of EM, but my face is all red. Yet another foundation that turns red on me.

I first used the deep tan and it was TOOOOOO red. I mixed that with the medium deep and it looked good when I walked out of the house. Once I got to work and looked in the mirror, my face looked all red again. :x
Maybe you need to go with colors that are more yellow based than red.

ETA: I can't remember - had you tried the meow minerals yet? Did you like them?

I'm just getting into minerals thanks to NC.com. Today got a sample of Philosophy Supernatural in Bronze, nice light feel, good finish and good color when I tried it in-store. I bought Aveda's (blush, bronzer and foundation/powder). The blush and bronzer are nice. Foundation is a little heavy/mattey/coating.

I'm also interested in this brand called La Bella Donna --anyone tried? They sell at Bergdorf Goodman and spas and have a website but I don't see any samples offered.

They all worked well, but I like a lighter, more natural look. At the same time, I have combination skin and tend to break out at times, so I opted for the Pampered Puss. I would have been fine with any of them, and almost got the cheaper Perfect Puss, but it wasn't a big price difference. The Flawless Feline is a bit too much all over coverage for me. I did get a concealer, which will last me forever, and got a shade darker as they recommended since the concealers tend to be lighter. It's perfect for the occassional spot coverage.
I got my samples of Lumiere in. The first one I tried, Deep Golden, made my face turn a sick, dark almost black color. It looked good at first, but once it set, it was HORRIBLE. But when I tried the Medium Deep Golden - PERFECT! I have NEVER had a foundation match me as perfectly..not even MAC!!!

I am going to wait to try the Meowcosmetics and see how that goes. If the Lumiere still is the front-runner, I am FOR sure going to get some. I noticed that the mall near my girlfriend's house sells Lumiere at a kiosk, so I will probably just go there so I don't have to worry about waiting for it.
Lumiere is WONDERFUL stuff. Make sure the mall kiosk is selling the same stuff...it might just be a similarly-named brand. I don't think Lumiere is available anywhere at retail, other than the website, unless this one particular vendor has some sort of deal worked out with the owner, Kim.

Meowcosmetics it is! WOW! I found a match in slinkly Chatreaux. I love the finish and everything!!

I'll be ordering sometime this week!!
Youngblood gives me a glow...not a glittery look, but a healthy dewy look. Then again, my constant oil supply helps with that too, the makeup just tones it down
I've got samples of Joppa, Lumiere, and Meow-- it's between Lumiere and Meow- both go on great and match my fair skin tone. So excited!!

I need to order some of the samples from Meow - I came across their site a couple of weeks ago. Do most of you recommend the mid price one for coverage?

I'm so glad so many like Meow as much as I do! I think you get good coverage from all three-if you want heavier, go with the higher priced, but, imo, the middle (pampered) and lowest priced (perfect) for that matter, give a more natural look. You can always layer for additional opaque-ness. I don't go oily at all anymore by using this with my sas t-zone serum prior to application. Happy experimenting
Thanks for the rave son Meow; I just ordered samples of Purfect and pampered in Naughty Chartreuse, Mau and Friece Sphynx and Slinky chartreuse. Anyone use that fibre optic brush?

I am normally oil but I ordered a sample of the Meow primer and top coat along with my sample foundations and I'm not having to blot at all during the day. I am so glad to have finally found something that works and keeps my skin looking matte and natural all day. I defintely recommend the primer for sure!

I wish my samples would hurry up & get here. If I like my samples & end up ordering more, I might throw in that brush.
