Buyers Remorse

PS- They say not to do shimmery bronzers if you are pale. The matte works better with your complexion. I personally don't want glitter on my forehead and chin. If it has more of a glow or light shimmer it's not too bad, for me, or it's nice once in a while.

I don't think I could name all the bronzers that have left me with buyers remorse.
rouquinne and curlypearl like this.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I avoided bronzers for years because I had such bad luck. I finally ended up with two that I like. One is the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil, the other is a matte bronzer from Tarte, which is just slightly darker.

RNC, I have had problems with several products geared toward that or different skin sensitivities. They seem to cause more of a reaction. I leave it to more natural skin care products that help ease and calm and use whatever makeup that doesn't bother me.

That's another thing with drug store stuff. I have had a ton of reactions over the years.

Oops. I meant to add the Flower Lip & Cheek Chubby. Since I do have better luck with DS cream blush, and liked the Flower Lip Chubby, I decided to give one of those a try. It's too powdery and dry for your cheeks and especially for your lips. Waste of $8. The FLC strictly for your lips is not bad though. At least It didn't cause my lips to melt off.

I am almost where I could get away without foundation if I wanted to without being a blotchy mess. That's always a plus

I would love to look at them in person. It drives me crazy looking at pictures because they all show different shades. The lighting or flash/no flash changes the color a bit and I know the swatches of them don't look like much on arms or hands but it's better on the face.

Different every time

PS- I am kind of scared I might want to eat it with the chocolate smell & cocoa powder as an ingredient.

I regret almost every drugstore bronzer I've tried simply because they're super light and I could use most of them as a regular face powder.

I regret the Neutrogena foundation I bought because the darkest shade was STILL too light for me.

I regret all Maybelline mascaras too (they itch and end up under my lower lash line, even when I only put it on my upper lashes).

I regret all of my false lashes. Nothing is wrong with them but I spend all this time putting them on only to get scared and rip them off because I'm afraid I look like I have a waving hand on my upper lashes.
curlypearl likes this.
Haha @ false lashes. They do make some pretty ones. I like looking at them and probably have around 7 pairs (going from normal to blue feathers on the end) that I break out for Halloween or costume parties but I wouldn't do them every day. ETA: I also have to put them on at some point or life just doesn't feel fun. I always had to wear them during dance recitals and chorus shows. Full stage makeup with lashes, heavy eyes/cheeks/lips. I always loved getting ready for those. I personally think of them more as theatrical than necessary, unless the person needs some lash help. Either way, go forth and blink

I hope they keep improving on drug store shades. Some have came leaps and bounds from what they were but many are still lacking.

I usually go for wispies and tapered lashes to give a cat eye effect. I know it's just because I'm not used to seeing my eye with them..

I also regret the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette. I got it as a birthday gift for my stepmom and it was just. No. I should've taken a clue from the eye look the lady who was trying to sell it to me was wearing. She looked like she got punched in the eye.

I really regret the Lorac AfterGlo Palette, mainly because of how much of a disappointment it was. I was SO excited to get it in the mail and the colors were seriously lacking in pigmentation. I ended up returning it.
I also use the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil. I love, love, love that bronzer. I'd recommend it to any cool-toned, fair person looking for a good contour shade. It's so blendable, and gorgeous! It smells fabulous as well!

So glad I joined this thread because I remembered I'd bought some Benefit Pore-fessional and it seemed to do so little but I found the receipt and still had time to take it back to Ulta. So I swapped it out for It CC in medium and now I don't have to wear that stinky heavy Clinique on my face this summer.
Good deal. It helps when you can exchange.

Clinique CC Cream is a regret for me, and I am going to have to buy TFMCS!

OCC lip tar (kava kava).
I like the peppermint EO and castor oil. They help condition my lips but the main reason I regret getting this was the color. It was not true to color (much lighter than what it looks like in the tube). Are all the shades this way?

It's a shame I can't enjoy it on its own. Adjusting this with lip pencils all the time is no longer an option but a necessity.
The only Balm product I'm sorry about is the Ima Goodkisser lippie. Too light. Very coral. But I can tone it done with glosses. Still wish I'd tried another color.
I regret Bare Minerals. It has bismuth in it and turned my face into a swollen, itchy mess and my eyes swelled for three days. It was awful.

Also hated the yellow powder from Clinique for rosacea. Made me a chalky mess and not very soothing. Actually pretty much anything for rosacea has sucked for me. I have had better success with continuous use of coconut oil. That has eliminated alot of my redness.

Also hair related, hate Suave Green Apple condish. Although I liked as a condish, it caused a nasty mess on my eye that took me months to figure out.

The coconut oil has really helped the rosacea redness so I'm not blotchy red all the time, but the reactive redness is a smidge harder to treat. On the upside as I cool down it settles back down. I also like Avene Thermal Water for calming. Joys of pale skin. Lol!

My latest regret is the BM Serum Foundation. I have tried all of their other foundations, so I thought that I would buy it because they have been hyping it up so much on QVC. Number one, I had to guess at the color that I felt looked closest enough to my skin tone. The color I got was Nude. It is not a perfect match, but I still decided to use it anyway. The brush it comes with to apply the foundation is like no other brush I had ever seen before. You are supposed to apply a certain number of drops into the brush based upon the amount of coverage you need. While putting on the foundation, it was also like it was sheering out the foundation at the same time. I actually felt more like I was wearing a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation after I had finished applying it to my face. I immediate cancelled my auto-delivery for this stuff after my first day of trying this stuff. I did apply powder over this foundation, as the weather is hot and humid where I am at, and I just did not feel that this foundation would last long on my combo/oily face without.

I had to do touchups with powder throughout the day, as this product did not hold up well in the climate I live in at all. I also ended up sending it back to QVC for a refund. I used to really like the new products that BE would come out with. But, I am finding that my excitement over BE is slowly waning. As I don't find myself buying stuff all the time like I used to anymore. I actually have found myself buying products more so from other cosmetic lines than I do from BE anymore.
