what's the best (pencil) eyeliner?

I like a more smokey look, not a sharp one. I'd like a pencil. Also I have brown/ hazel eyes. And I want it to survive for a long time.
I need eye liner I can wear with my chronic dry eye lol

When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I am not too picky when it comes to eyeliner. I have used many that I love. Maybelline makes a fantastic cream/gel liner that comes in a little pot/jar. It sets well but you can smudge before it sets.

Stila and Urban Decay make great pencil liners! They have awesome staying power.

Clinique makes some really good ones and I love the Estee Lauder Quickliners. They smudge really well. ETA on this: It is Clinique Quickliners, not EL. I actually like the Clinique liners a bit better. I think I said those were WL in a different thread, too. I have Estee Lauder on the brain, and they have a liner with Quick in the name, too.

Um... Revlon, Cover Girl... I really don't have a favorite. Just make sure it is not smudge proof and if it sets quickly, line and smudge one eye at a time.

Since you enjoy the smoky eye look, you might love this one

Maybelline Master Smoky Eyeliner. I picked up the black but have not used it yet. I know it has been awarded the 'best beauty buy' by a few different magazines. I like the thicker pencil and larger smudging tip. It should be good for a quick and intentionally messy application.

It doesn't have too much glimmer (if the Pearly part of the name concerns you); the bit of light flecks work well to make my eyes pop more than other pencils I've used. I wear brown pencil nearly every day and this, for sure, is my new HG brown pencil.

No, drops never work. I have a pretty severe case. Where can I find the urban decay line? I had to quit wearing makeup completely and I miss it occasionally!

Completely and totally agreeing with the Urban Decay 24/7 liner pencils. They work wonderfully as eyeliners, bases, and stay put on the waterline.

I agree with everyone. The Urban Decay liner is one of the best I have used. I have a white one that I put on water lines, the inner corner, brow bone and center of the lid. It stays put and glides on so easily.

For drugstore (Walgreens) Jordana 12 HR Made To Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil is great. There's enough time before it sets to smudge it. Comes in different shades. I've also heard many good things about Milani Liquify (sp?) liner, it's been compared to Urban Decay liner that others rec'd. Another one is not pencil, but L'Oreal Infallible Gel liner is very good too, there's also enough time to smudge it for smokey look before it sets (bonus is the brush it comes with works very well).
