Default Is powder always bad on mature skin?

At the makeup counter and in books, the advice is always to use powder over makeup to make it last longer. As I got older, I didn't like the effects--seemed drying and accentuated wrinkles. So I have avoided it.

Should us 'older' women avoid it altogether, or are there powders that won't have that negative effect?

i only put a light dusting on my t-zone now.

MAC's Select Sheer powder has a silky finish that is very light and easy to wear.

[oh, i am a broken record today with recommending MAC, aren't i?]

Thanks, Rou. I will check that one out. I think I will go there and ask if I can try some on and then check to see how it behaves the rest of the day. BTW, I checked out the MAC stuff for the first time yesterday. If I hadn't already spent my limit on other stuff, I would have definitely been buying some things. Maybe next time . . . . . .

You seem to have tried many different lines of makeup. What is there about MAC that you like more than other lines? There is so much competition out there and it is so confusing how to pick the best products.
