BB Cream recommendations

Hi there

I'm interested in using BB cream - just for convenience factor. I haven't researched it all.

We've just had winter here - so a bit cold and dry. But summer is soon approaching and it gets real hot and humid.

I tried benefit the other day and it looked good but I broke out slightly and my skin was pretty dry afterwards. Has anyone had the same experience?

Does anyone have any recommendations? What worked well, what didn't and why?

Thanks
I don't know a whole lot about BB's, CC's or EE's. I'm typically happy when I come across a standard tinted moisturizer, which I find to be better in many ways. I have tried the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB (8 in 1 Beauty Balm) and I like it in the winter. It's very moisturizing. I have to powder it but it goes on smoothly and has pretty good coverage. I also own Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB. Not as moisturizing. I have to exfoliate, moisturize like crazy, prime and thin it out. Application is a beast but the coverage is full.

I tried a sample of Estée Lauders EE Cream. Nice. Again, it has a lot of moisture but hardly any coverage. I find no need to put on additional moisturizers with it or the first I mentioned.

Again, a standard tinted moisturizer is still my favorite. Cover FX has came out with pure foundation/pigment drops. You can add them to your favorite moisturizer and tint as you like. No fragrance. It changes nothing. Just pure color. I'd go that route.

Thanks fi. I have no clue when it comes to makeup as I rarely wear any. I didn't even know about BB cream until I went into sephoras looking for a gift for a friend. I'm still not entirely sure how it works. And absolutely No clue about CC & EEs either

I have some mac tinted moisturiser that my sister bought me. But it kinda feels suffocating if that make sense. Maybe it's too heavy.

I'll research ur suggestions and give em a try

Most in their line end up causing reactions or problems and are not recommended for anyone with remotely sensitive or problem skin. Their concealers and powders are fine. Weird.

BB is supposed to have several different properties that are beneficial for your skin. It goes above and beyond a simple tinted moisturizer. CC is supposed to have color correcting properties. I don't know what the rest are supposed to do.

Years ago Clinique made the best tinted moisturizer I have ever used (the first I used and the last I really, really 100% completely loved). I wore it all thru the late 80s and into the 90s (high school years and a bit beyond). It was my go to, rather than foundation. Not too heavy, not too light, only one thing to put on after I washed with my Noxema and toned with Sea Breeze (haha), and no reactions with my skin. They pulled it from the shelves for a long time and put out a BB or CC in its place a few years ago that was horrific. I think they brought it back, though. I'm pretty sure I saw it a few weeks ago when I was picking out a blush. No idea if it's the old formulation or not. **Nope. It's not. I used the original SPF 15 City Block tinted moisturizer. Great coverage for a TM and had a natural finish. They came out with the City Block Sheer as well, that offered higher SPF's (original was still better) and then discontinued. What they have now is Moisture Surge. Idk how people like it (though I did see a couple reviewers saying "the original City Block was the best").

Physicians Formula makes a pretty good tinted moisturizer in their natural line. I liked the coverage, I liked the moisture but it smells so strongly of men's shaving cream, it's not even funny.

My closest love to Cliniques is done by a skincare line I love. Eminence Organics but that stuff is $50 a bottle. And it's a glass bottle (with a pump) so it.'a harder to travel with. I splurged one time while getting an extra discount on it that brought it down to $30. I got the Light/Medium and it's a little too dark for my skin now.

Can you mix it with moisturising cream to make it lighter - if it's too dark?

That is really where the Cover FX stuff would come in handy, with it just being pure pigment and no difference in SPF's, properties, etc. One drop would do. I'd love to see it in person but I have no Sephora.

I do have a bronzing body cream that I can put on and it matches well. It's not a self tanner. It's the same principal of Sally's airbrush legs, etc, but in a pump bottle. You rub it on, it automatically dries and just deepens you up a touch. You wash it off in the shower. I have not used it this year. I burnt once and have remained pale since.
