Death Adder (Carnival Diabolique-fazia's companion) ActII
Death Adder-Snake Oil with vetiver, black coconut, vanilla, and opoponax.I have to say it's not pleasant for me in the bottle.
Wet: it's vetiver and coconut
Dry: a tiny bite of vetiver, coconut, vanilla and some light spices.
It has pretty good staying power on me. 8 hours at least.
Be careful wearing it while hormonally challenged, I can smell the vetiver stronger then. I think I'll get a locket for this one so it will stay nice coconut vanilla on me.

Monsterbait Underpants LE
MONSTER BAIT: UNDERPANTS
Who doesn't want a monster in their pants? Sexy sugar-smeared saffron sandalwood over lickable vanilla cream with a splash of butter rum.
I love the name but it goes perfumy on me. I cant' place the smell exactly I think it's sandlewood? but dang it I thought it was going to be like MB Closet or something!
I'm tickled to have a decant but I won't be scrambling for a full bottle.

URD GC Excolo- The norns
Urd-Excolo-Lab Description: "Muscadine, black and red patchouli, cereus and nag champa."
Muscadines and patchouli!
Wet I get more muscadine but dry I still get a little of it mixed with patchouli and nag champa.
I like it since I love Nag champa but I have to say I'm surprised I liked fruit in my scent

THE HESPERIDES
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this in the bottle. Smells just like fresh crisp apples. Still smells the same when you first put it on and then dies down a little bit. I'm wearing it to test today and I really like it, but it doesn't seem to last very long. I'm new at this BPAL stuff. Do you need to put a lot on or is it just that this scent doesn't last that long?

Re: Monsterbait Closet LE
I second this review. Too bad the bottles always go for more than I'm really willing to pay on ebay . . .
And great idea for this thread. Now if my immune system would just get back to work and let me smell again, I can start adding . . .

Bliss
Thank goodness this is GC woohoo!!
Bliss -From the Bewitching Brews collection: A shot of pure, self-indulgent euphoria! A scent that is very, very wicked in its own way: the serotonin-slathered scent of pure milk chocolate.
Wet- chocolate cake
Dry- more Chocolate cake! fresh out of the oven mind you
So says just chocolate but close enough!
I love me some chocolate Bliss!

BLISS
To use a medusa term "Dang!" but that subject's line's small! I'm gonna put the name into the body of my reviews I think.
BLISS
What medusa said! Just stunningly, realistically, chocolatey divine. Like drizzling melted milk choccy little Doves all over my body. And who wouldn't want that, people.
Now I really need to go to two meetings: Chocoholics Anon & BPAL-ites in Recovery. Make it 3: PJ's United for a Balanced Budget (ours).

Boomslang
Upon first whiff in the bottle, I thought I was smelling a blend of Freak Show and 13, with a little Snake Oil thrown in.
Wet on my skin, it was definitely the same tonka and cocoa from Freak Show, but with LOTS more Snake Oil, which is why my nose started curling up (not a fan of Snake Oil here shhhhhhhhh.) It got too medicinal on me, but that's the fault of the Snake Oil because it's always reminded me of Campho-phenique in some odd way. It stayed like this for-EVER, in fact I thought it would never go away.
Drydown: Pure baby powder.
I was really disappointed because I was hoping for a nice chocolatey/vanilla blend that would somehow blend in a little Snake Oil that I might could handle. But sadly this didn't happen.

Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo
more GC love coming at ya
Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo-voodoo blend-Bottled happiness. Helps reverse misfortune, brings light and laughter to even the most troubled and discordant place, and aids in alleviating the stress and discontent that accompanies so many of life's daily trials.
Wet- it's fruity, pear maybe?
Dry-Yellow cake with cream cheese frosting! Definitely sweet, with a tiny bit of sour that reminds me of either lemon frosting or cream cheese.
This and Bliss are my foody loves so far

BRISINGAMEN
Out of the 7 imps I got, this was at the top of the list of my favorites after just smelling the imp -- amber, apple & carnation. Smelled wonderful! After wearing it for a few hours today, it dries down almost immediately to baby powder and the scent is completely gone now - at least I can't smell it anymore and I put a lot more on today. I'm still wondering if I'm not putting enough of these on. Anyway, so far this one isn't bottle worthy.

PRAGUE
PRAGUE - Crocus with snowdrop and three lilies.
I cannot for the life of me remember what real crocus smells like (we don't get too many of those in Florida ), but this scent feels very familiar to me. Kind of like seeing someone you recognize, but can't quite place in your mind. This scent makes me so happy! It reminds me of spring... REAL spring, not "almost summer" that we have here. I realize that my love for this scent may be largely sentimental, but I do think it's a very nice scent in its own right.
Wet - In the bottle, it smells very floral. I happen to like floral scents, but this one I find particularly pleasant.
On - When I put it on, it becomes a sweeter floral scent almost like sugared flowers. My BF smelled fruity candy, but I don't smell fruit at all. I don't know why it turns sweet on my skin, but I love it!
Drydown - This one stays very true on me as it fades. It lasts no more than 5 hours before I have to reapply though.
This one is definitely a keeper for me.

DUBLIN
DUBLIN
Really did evoke the misty forests of Britain for me, lots of pine, but soft -- it's a different scent than the all evergreen forests of coastal Alaska though. I like it, but it's a little too pine-y for me. Just the slightest hint of well, Pinesol. It does dry down to a more loamy forest scent though.

PERSEPHONE
PERSEPHONE -- My very favorite of my 1st 6 imp order.
Pomegranate & rose, evenly balanced. Very lush, but not overly sweet; in fact, it's slightly spicy and tangy. Reminds me of my grandmother's garden: old-fashioned red roses, with raspberries ripening in the sun nearby. Just a gorgeous scent. Bottle-worthy!

Blood Countess
BLOOD COUNTESS
I can see this being elegant and intriguing...on someone else. Say, someone who loves heavy, complex, floral Oriental perfumes like Opium. But on me it was overpowering; the "corrupted plum, opium, and crumbling dead roses" turned bitter & acrid.

MOON ROSE
MOON ROSE
rose, moonflower, a little citrus. Described as "sheer", which I like, but this one seemed just sweet to me & slightly cloying. The dry down made it a little more translucent, but I was hoping for more transparency & less sweetness.

The Mock Turtle's Lessons
The Mock Turtle's Lessons
Not quite Turtle Soup: blurry aquatic notes, with a confusing, contrary splort of iris, ambrette, green apple, vodka, white mint and a squish of lime.
I decided to try something completely different today. This was one of the frimps that I liked in the bottle. Very clean, light and bright smelling. it's very cool to me, and I do detect the softest hint of mint, but nothing that you would normally expect from a strong mint scent. I think I finally understand what they mean by "aquatic notes" . I don't think I will get a bottle of this, but will definitely use the imp during the summer. It will be a wonderful, refreshing hot-weather fragrance, and a perfect up-beat alternative for those that aren't drawn to florals and fruits (and it will go great with an ice-cold Corona or green apple martini on the beach )
eta: I've had this on for almost 3 hrs, and still smell it, which surprises me since it is such a soft, laid-back scent. I thought my skin would eat it right up, but, although definitely a skin scent for me, it's still here

Antique Lace
Antique Lace-Nostalgia encapsulated. A soft, wistful blend of dry flowers, aged linens, and the faint breath of long-faded perfumes.
Very warm sweet vanilla and a slight bit of floral. It reminds me of a warm gooey marshmallow. Later I can smell the linen faintly. It is like the description says a very nostalgic scent, like going through your grandma's things. I like a more dark vanilla. I may be layering this with some spicier scents quite often.

The Knave of Hearts
Ok, going to cross-post this from the bpal forum:
The Knave of Hearts: Crushed Roses and Blackcurrant Tarts.
When sniffing from the bottle, it definitely smells familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. Lots of warm, buttery baked goods are involved.
Wet on my skin: Still the warm, butter baked goods, but mixed with.... potpouri?? :ack:
Then it hits me, this smells like a really strong candle, or when you're walking through the candle/potpouri aise in a store. Hmmm.
Drydown: This last hours for me, even after an hour of running I could still smell it somewhat. I never got much rose, which is fine with me because I was very leary of the rose. But that could be the rose that is reminding me a bit of potpouri. It just smells too much like a generic foody/dried spice candle to me. Does anyone else get pumpking out of this? Because it reminds me a tad of Jack, but I adore Jack.
Verdict: I am very much a foody-scent person, but while this is nice, it's just not for me. I bet it would be great as a room scent though. Especially in the fall/winter.
