regular or waterproof?
I would like to keep using waterproof mascara but i heard its really bad for your lashes and that you should only use it once in a while. Is waterproof mascara really that bad for your lashes or is it just a myth?
whats the best drugstore mascara and waterproof mascara?

i use waterproof most of the time. Avon's Waterproof Wash-Off Mascara really does come off easily with soap and water or makeup remover.
otherwise, i wear Maybelline Great Lash!

I use regular because it comes off with water.

I've used Covergirl Marathon mascara for over 30 years. I only remove it completely every few days (I use castor/jojoba oil). I don't think it has affected my lashes.

Has Covergirl had a mascara for over 30 years?????? Wow! It seems most cosmetics companies change formulations/packaging every six months or so to keep most of us buying the "new & improved" stuff.
I normally buy the non-waterproof mascara. Covergirl lash exact and volume exact are both really good and stay of my lashes despite NOT being waterproof. Revlon fabulash is good, too.

I panic every time I see a new type of Covergirl mascara, thinking it's replacing my Marathon. I'll have a nervous breakdown if that happens.

best way to apply mascara:
http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlco...les.php?id=302
best way to remove it - splash your face with warm water, apply makeup remover of your choice, GENTLY work it into your lashes, then gently towel off with a lint-free cloth or cotton pad. repeat as necessary.

I love CG (the blue tube one) because it will hold the curl in my lashes for 18 hours. Seriously. That's the only reason I don't use non-waterproof; the water in it takes out the curl I have to put in with an eyelash curler. But this stuff is extremely hard to get off and it will not last at all in the pool. I had racoon-eyes the other night. So I will remember to take it off before swimming. I guess I take it with a grain of salt, so to speak. But maybe I will try that avon one Rou is talking about.

I don't use waterproof because my eyes can be fairly sensitive so I don't like having to use a make-up remover.
My favorite is the new Max Factor ones with the rubbery brush. Volume Something and Lash Protection/Precision/whatever, I think. The volume one is my fav but they're similar. They stay on really well though. Much better than anything else I've tried lately.
I've never had much luck with Cover Girl mascara.

I only use waterproof mascara when I know I'll need it - if I'm going swimming or know I'm going to cry, otherwise it's not necessary. When I would wear waterproof mascara daily, my eyelashes were always dry and less cooperative.
You should check out makeupalley.com. They have reviews of every mascara imaginable! I personally like Maybelline Full and Soft, but it depends on what look you're going for. Max Factor 2000 Calorie is good also, and more dramatic than Full and Soft.

I have used Cover Girl Professional Mascara (non-waterproof, straight wand) for years. I recently tried L'oreal Volumnous and Mab.'s Full'n'Soft. Out of the two I liked Full'n'Soft better, but it is still no match for my CG Professional Mascara. No smudges, holds a curl and is easy to remove. My HG!

i like fabulash too...it's not waterproof but i don't really need it and i sweat a lot during my workouts but it stays on...i would think waterproof would be harsh...

I use waterproof more often than not and my lashes are perfectly fine. I like Lancome custom volume.

I've been wearing Maybelline Great Lash for years -- I use regular on my top lashes and waterproof only on my bottom lashes so I don't get those little black dots underneath my eyes from the lashes hitting the skin. I've never had any problem with it.

I've never ever been able to get Great Lash to do anything decent for me! It always looks horrible on me and I've tried many times over the years. I know so many beautifully lashed gals who swear by it though.
I can't imagine the riots if it was ever discontinued!
