Default mark makeup!!!

I'm a mark representative and I was wondering if there were any other Reps here, or any mark lovers!

For those of you who don't know what mark is, let me explain. mark is Avon's daughter company geared toward women ages 16 to 24 (but all ages love it). It's sold by women in the same age category just as Avon is sold. To take a peek at the wonderful products check out www.meetmark.com.

I have some questions about Mark, if you could help me:

First, why is it called Mark? It's makeup - why does it have a male name. The only other thing that comes to mind when I hear the word "mark" is "sucker" - like if you were planning to run a scam, you'd find an appropriate mark to suck in.

Second, I know it's marketed TO a women in a specific age group and it's supposed to be sold by women that age but - what happens when you turn 25? Is it like Menudo and they just kick you out?

There was a fair amount of magazine coverage when Mark was first launced and I always wondered about those two points but I didn't know anyone to ask.

I was wondering, are the ingredients used to make Mark the same as the Avon products? I ask because I can't use Avon make-up since I get an awful rash. I like some of the mark products but don't want to waste money on stuff that I won't be able to use.

1) I wondered this myself, at first. The reasoning behind the name is this: mark is celebrating the mark young women are making on the world. Make sense?

2) No, anybody 16 and older can be a mark rep. I was recruited by a 60ish Avon lady who also sells mark!

Gosh, I honestly don't know the answer to your question. Untamedcurls might be able to answer it, though. I'll do some research and see what I can find for you!

What Avon products give you a reaction? Ex: lipgloss, lipstick, foundation, etc.

HI!

I am not sure, but I believe it depends on the products you are interested in. Some of them may have the same ingredients and some may not.

Did you try Avon recently?

I have been thinking about becoming a rep... can I ask how much you generally make doing it? Is it worth the time and effort?

HI ChestnutCurls,

At the beginning, you dont' make much. After you have a loyal customer base and can control the spending on yourself then you start to make money.

If you are considering becoming an Avon Rep. or would like more information, E-mail me and I will help you with whatever I can!

The only thing I've been able to use is the lip liner. I've got so much avon makeup. Basically I stock it up and give it to my friends or co-workers. The last thing I bought was some shimmery eye-shadow. My eyes swole up so bad I looked like someone punched me. Before that I had bought the stay-on lip tint. It was like the cover girl outlast. and as soon as I put it on my lips got all tingly and then they got swollen too. I'm not into the swollen lippy look

YolyC: Oh wow...I am sorry to hear that!
I was just asking because they made changes in their makeup and was wondering if you tried it before or after their changes.
Their fragrances are also good and I don't know how old you are but their Anew (anti aging) line is up there also. These are your other options if you do not want to use their makeup.

Let's just say I make enough to pay for my own mark makeup with a little left over. It actually works out pretty well. And I have a VERY limited customer base as I only sell to my friends at the dance studio. So if you were to really promote mark, I think you could do pretty well. Nothing like a full-time job, though. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me!

I joined Avon in December and I also make enough to pay for the Avon makeup for personal use as well as some left over.

If you want to see what kind of stuff they order, you can check out my profile.
