Default home microdermabrasion kits...

Just curious if anyone has tried these? And what is it supposed to do for you? Did it work?

I have tried and love the L'oreal Refinish Microdermabrasion kit. The granuals are so fine, but, really polish your skin. And, the moisturizer gives your skin a real glow. Definitely a winner for me.

So glad you asked about this, as I saw a coupon for the Loreal one and it really made me wonder if they were worth a try? Any other recs for these? I feel like my face is just really needing a 'lift' (pardon the pun) lately, like it needs more brightening.

I went to my nearest walgreens to check for this last weekend, after reading reviews on MUA. They were sold out, which might be a good sign.

Well, I decided to go the chem peel route instead - my skin recently went nuts on me.

I just ordered 2 lactic acid peels - 40% and 55%, and a TCA peel - 8%.

If I end up not liking any of them, then I will try the microdermabrasion
peel and report back on those results

I have also tried this & I find it really good. My skin is rather sensitive, so I was a bit scared to try it at first. But I got great results, little or no irritation, but you have to remember to be generous with the moisturizer afterwards. I find it best to do this in the evening before bed, this gives your skin time to absorb the moisturizer without applying make-up or other products afterwards.

Do any of you use Retinol or Alpha/Beta Hydroxy Acids? I switch back and forth between both, and am afraid to try the Micro-Dermabrasion kits as my skin may already be a little thinner. Anyone have any info on this?

I use retinol and BHA, and my skin is HYPERsensitive. From what I've read online, the microdermabrasion kits are gentle enough for even me to use. I would just stop using the other stuff a day or 2 before and after a microdermabrasion tmt. This is what I used to do when I would go to an aesthetician for Biomedic enzyme peels. You might want to do some additional research for your own comfort though.

Also, if it helps to know, I used the 40% lactic acid peel yesterday (stopped using my products the 2 days before), and barely felt it. I'm hoping to move up to the other strength in about a week, then the TCA peel in 2-3 weeks. I believe these are also safe (possibly safer than microdermabrasion) to use.

What did the microdermabrasion do for you? What is it supposed to do?

Is it supposed to clear out your pores and help with breakouts? Can it get rid of light acne scars? I have oily skin, but can be dry too which doesn't make sense to me. I would be hesitant about putting moisturizer on my skin.

This kit in particular I was considering http://www.homedics.com/prod/detail.aspx?ID=66

I'm assuming this is the l'oreal kit you all are talking about? http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...aram=xsp205536
