brown eyed girls

What eyeshadow colors do you brown eyed girls wear and how do you apply it? Liner recs would be good too.
How brown are your eyes? Mine are almost black and my skin is a very pale olive, so I have to be careful about my makeup colors. I actually wear a brown almost bronze (minus the shimmer) eye liner, and a tawny brown eyeshadow. My eyes are deep set, and anything too dark make them look like holes. I usually use a bone color at the brow line and on the inside corners as well. I prefer a more natural look, and can look made up very quickly because of my coloring.

HTH!

As opposed to TRC, I find that I am pretty much incapable of looking like I have on too much makeup! I'll switch back so you can see my old photo from Austin in my avatar. In that pic, I used a dark black shadow to "line" my upper and lower lashes, a non-shimmery bronze like TRC described in the crease, and a white highlighter below my eyebrows (on the brow bone?) I then used just plain ol' black mascara. That day, I'd describe my eyecolor as chocolate. On days my eyes look darker, I will sometimes do a black eyeliner, thicker on the outside edge, highlight the inner corner and below my brows, and no other makeup, and it makes my eyes more dramatic because they're darker. My newest look is to use a bright blue (which doesn't look that bright on) eyeshadown making a kind of "C" shape-from about one third from the inner corner of my eye to the outer corner, then up into the crease about 1/2 of the way, then I've been using a slightly shimmery darker than bronze brown to fill in the parts of the lid the blue didn't go, and a light creamy/white color below my eyebrows/on the very inside corner. It doesn't look like a whole lot once applied, but makes my eyes pop! I'll have to get a picture of it at somepoint...

If I don't want to deal with shadow, I might do a navy blue eyeliner and black mascara.

Then there are most days...in which I'm too lazy to do anything!

It was a Victoria's Secret purchase, actually! They had multiple makeup artists there when I was there the other day, so I figured I'd let one play with color on me. The blue is Aura Science Cornflower Blue, the white is Ivory Nude, and the brown is Bronzed Brown.

They are *not* on the website, so I can't point you in that direction for an idea.

Check out MAC Retrospeck & Rice Paper eyeshadows....beautiful, soft shades for brown eyes. MAC Powersurge eye kohl looks great with both of these too.

don't forget my August column was about eye makeup colours for different eye colours!

today i'm wearing MAC's Trax with Bonne Bell Black Plum eyeliner.

i usually wear MAC Naked Lunch, Shroom, Brule or Jest with Embark, Mystery or Showstopper.

I have just started putting just a hint of a paprika color in the creases. Even though my eyes are deep set they seem to pop now.

I use any color except brown and I'm dying to try Almay's new kit for brown eyes. I remember the Aziza craze of the early 80s and I'm a sucker for more than 2 shadow packaged together.

I always look to see what colors Catherine Zeta-Jones is wearing and modify that for my complexion. I like plums, turquoises (only for evening) and gold.

You could always hit the MAC counter for a makeover.
