My MAC guy gave me a sample of the Fast Response eye cream on saturday and I while I really like it, I'm also wondering what your opinion of this is and the Moisture Feed for Eyes as well. He liked the Fast Response better, but do you think one is better than the other or have you tried either or one of them? Are they worth the $? I've noticed more little fine lines in the inner/under eye area recently and more puffiness. I know part of it is just well, gravity But I also think much of it has to do with needing a better hydrator because of the colder season and because of having the drying heat going all the time while indoors. Would you say either of these is a good choice or is there something else you would recommend that is better and cheaper?
When you answer this, would you pretty please go back to explaining why it isn't a good idea to put eye creams on the lid itself? I never quite understood that. I thought that since we put makeup there, eye gels/creams couldn't hurt. Thanks in advance!!!!
i really like the Moisture Feed myself, but Fast Response is good for day wear because it absorbs quickly.
being "middle-aged", i like the stuff that feels creamier myself.
even though there are no oil or sweat glands in the eyelid, body heat warms up the eyelids and product that is placed there can run down into the eye itself. especially something emollient like eye creams. almost every product designed to go on the lid itself has some type of fixative to keep it there.
a lot of the products in those creams these days - alpha and beta hydroxies, for example - should NOT get *in* the eye itself. stinging and irritation are a given in those instances.
my eyelids are starting to get *crepey*, but i'll never put anything on them unless and until something is developed specifically for that purpose.
Here's what Clinique advertises about their All About Eyes gel:
Diminishes the appearance of eye puffs, darkness, fine lines. Lightweight, non-creep, cream/gel formula actually helps hold eye makeup in place. For use morning and night, under eyes and on the lids.
So, now, from what you're saying, this may be an eye makeup base/preparation. It does keep eye makeup in place; I've used several jars of it.
I now notice that it says diminishes the appearance of lines. That probably means that it can't help repair lines and wrinkles, it just helps to hide them. I think I understand now. Thank you so much for explaining this! Would this be a product that you'd consider using for your eyes? (I know it isn't MAC! )
