Another question about witch hazel: my mom has a really old bottle of distilled witch hazel extract. Is this different? Ingredients are water, SD alcohol 39-C, witch hazel extract.

curly_princess: that might be the same thing BUT do yourself a favor and buy a new bottle!! it's cheap and is worth it.

tgreyz: i read that people put green tea (steeped green tea) and/or dilute an aspirin or 2 in the witch hazel....that's what i do...works well!

Eek! Don't put the SD alcohol on your skin!

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll be getting a new bottle on my next trip to the store.

Doesn't all witch hazel have alcohol? What the difference between the alcohol in witch hazel and SD alcohol? Or is witch hazel available without alcohol?

Is steeped green tea different from regular green tea? How much do you add to the witch hazel?

i am considering using dr. bonner's (again) just checking back with everyone on this thread to see how their skin is doing. i am still using the witch hazel and like it better than any other toner. i did buy the kiehl's tea tree toner and i liked it but it is spendy and just okay. i decided to just use it when i have a flare up or something.

i never started using the the dr. bonner's consistently. how's that working for you ladies? are y'all still using it?
