Default skin type question

I feel so stupid for asking this, but I have no clue what my skin type is.

What I've heard, if you wash your face and a short time later you have shine then your oily, if feels tight dry, and shine on your t-zone=combination.

I don't feel dry, I do get a little shine but it's more like towards the end of the day and only on my checks and a little on my nose and no where else.

Here's my regime: I'm cheap and lazy and only wash my face with water most days, I only wear eye make-up and don't really have any problems removing it, I rarely have break-outs, and stress usually precedes any I have. I use lotion when I remember to which isn't very often.

so what does that make me?

Default skin type question

Hi cympremi! Check out Dr. Baumann's book "The Skin Type Solution" - you can browse this at the bookstore or get it out of the library. She goes into great detail about basically 16 different types of skin, and recommendations for each. It's her opinion that 80% of folks are using the wrong type of products for their skin type. While I don't necessarily agree with all her product recs(she has both drugstore and Rx recs)her approach makes a good deal of sense if you really don't know what kind of skin you have. In the book there is a fairly extensive questionnaire that helps you assess your skin. Good luck!
