Green Cream? Comedonal acne problems...

Has anyone tried this? It's a retinol cream. I have comedonal acne that is being pretty stubborn and I heard retinol is a good treatment. I will be without my wonderful military insurance in a few weeks, otherwise I would just get a scrip for Retin-A.

Are there any other retinol creams sold OTC that are not oily or fatty? Green Cream has some ingredients that scare me, but I've heard pretty good reviews on an acne site.

I finally just stopped using it and I cleared considerably. Then, I purchased real Retin-A, (from Mexico, cheap and no Rx needed), and my skin has been great. You can get a large 60 gram tube of Retin-A that will last you about 3 months for $12-$14 (plus $12 shipping). That's quite a deal considering the same tube goes for about $100 in most pharmacies.

Differin is another form of topical vitamin A, similar to Retin-A, but I've never personally used Differin, so I don't know what the differences are. Medsmex.com sells it also.

I like both Green Cream and SkinMedica's Retinol cream, but I'm not crazy about how much they cost. (I really don't care that the prices are in line with other skin care products, I think they are ALL too expensive, holy crap, there's no gold in those tiny containers).

I've never seen sales on Green Cream. Sometimes stores will have a 15% or 20% off sale once a year, and that's when I would stock up on the SkinMedica.

I'm not sure which works better...Retin-A is more effective at clearing and smoothing my skin, but after 7 months, I still get dryness and flaking from it (I apply 3x a week).

I use it daily. No it doesn't make me flake and peel. I'm very careful about my cleanser, though, so that I don't strip or damage my skin barrier. With a healthy skin barrier, skin can take a lot more abuse. I've used Retin-A on-and-off for over 20 years. It used to make me flake and peel, but not anymore. I attribute that to just all around better skin condition.
