the easiest way to get that look is to use powder. a blotting powder in a tone carefully matching your skin is a good choice.
there are also products you can put under your makeup that are sold specifically as "mattifiers" - Smashbox Anti-Shine, Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel, and LOLA Cosmetics Refine Shine Anti-Shine Gel.
