I have little bumps that I can feel on the outside of my elbows, a few inches above and below. I can't figure out if it's irritation from dry skin (which is a problem for me in winter) or if it's a reaction to putting moisturizers there! any theories? thanks!
I have bumps a couple inches above my elbow to just below my shoulder on the outside/back of my arms & was given the above diagnosis & a prescription for Am Lactin. I haven't been religious in using it though.
Thanks LL ! I looked that up and apparently it's harmless but there's no "cure"! The bumps aren't red or that noticeable on me but I can feel them. The website I was just looking at was advocating Eucerin Intensive Repair Creme (probably their sponsor).
Umm I get them too, but it could be just clogged hair follicles. You know, like hair bumps. As you know, the skin on our elbows and knees tend to get really dry and thick if we don't exfoliate and moisturize it properly. I'm betting that the skin has clogged up some follicles and the hair just can't get through so it's creating a bump.
My advice is to start exfoliating the area heavily and put a thick moisturizer on your elbows at night (Tyra Banks uses vaseline lol and then puts cut off socks on her arms to hold the moisture in). You could also go over your elbows with tweezers and pull the little hairs to the surface or out and then start the exfoliating/ moisturizing process. This would probably be more effective since you're removing the source of what's causing the bump. I have to do this around my knees and the bumps always go away after I remove the hair and exfoliate and moisturize.
