(cross posted) MAC brushes vs. paint brushes

Not sure why I never thought of this ... but quality paint brushes are a good alternative to expensive MAC brushes.

Does anyone have any information about how the animals are treated? I strive to keep my beauty collection 100% cruelty free. I'm not finding any information, good or bad, about treatment of animals in this industry!

I can't speak to how they treat the animals, but Windsor Newton and Grumbacher both have synthetic sable hair brushes that are just as good as the real thing and cheaper.

You can absolutely use them for makeup. and if you take care of them, they'll last you forever.

Yep, I believe Michael's carries both lines. They're usually over with the sketch books, portfolios and art supplies.

you can get both of those at Michael's and the best part is that they often have artist brushes at 25% to 50% off!
