RCW converts- progress?

AS,

Ouch...

How much castile cleanser are you using? Is it necessary for you to cleanse your face twice a day with cleanser? Also, since you seem to have more sensitive skin, perhaps the Green Tea Cleansing Milk may be more suited to your skin.

ETA: When I first started using the 5% PSF SA and Retin-A, I decided to use a brush with the cleanser. Big mistake. My face was also flaming and red and sore. The next few days, I just used HA and emu oil.

Definitely take your time.

Windflower,

I only used 1 pump of the cleanser. I usually only wash my face at night. In the morning, it only gets a splash of water. But like a kid on Christmas morning, when I saw my package with all my goodies, I got excited and decided to try the stuff.

It's calmed down a bit. I mixed 2 drops of jojoba oil and 1 drop of the HA serum and put it on my skin.

So, tomorrow morning, no cleanser just water and then the HA. In the evening, I'll cleanse and use my Retin-A. We'll see what happens...
1 full pump??? Oh my...that is way too much cleanser. Try using less than a half of a half of a pump...hmmm...well, i know what i meant!

basically, you will a half of a small pea size of cleanser in your hand...a very tiny amount. The bottle should last you about six months...or more.

Talking about how much to use.

RCW: i use the DY WGC and since it doesn't come in a pump bottle, I use two drops. Should that be okay?

My skin looks great by the way

Anyone have a link to a thread with RCW's routine, or, if not, would you be willing to post it RCW? I suspect you've posted it before, but I'm not having any luck finding it.

Thanks much

Here are the basics:

PSF Gentle Castile Cleanser or Green Tea Milk Cleanser (for the drier folks) Castile cleanser is very very concentrated, only a very small amount is needed. if you feel that you need additional cleaning, then wash again with a very small amount of cleanser.

PSF 2% or 5% BHA---wait 30 minutes before applying next product

PSF Vit C Serum---wait 10 minutes before applying moisturizer or sunscreen or makeup

PSF HA (Hyaluronic Acid)---great moisturizer - a drop or two mixed with either ultra emu oil or jojoba oil or PSF balancing oil as a moisturizer

PSF DMAE iff you need firming (has a fishy/ammonia type odor...order sample to be sure you like it...can also be very drying)---wait 15 to 30 minutes after applying

I also like the Acne Clay Mask from PSF.

If you prefer the Wheat Germ Cleanser, you can buy it from DY. She also has the ultra emu oil, BHA and Vit C.

I prefer the products from PSF.

Routine:

Morning:

Either warm wet wash cloth or cleanser choice
DMAE - if you are using this - wait 15 to 30 minutes
BHA - wait 30 minutes
Vit C - wait 10 minutes
Either: moisturize, sunscreen, makeup or all three

Night:
Cleanse
BHA - if needed - wait 30 minutes
Moisturize if needed

Buying the cleanser, vit c, HA, BHA and balancing oil from PSF will cost approximately $125 + shipping + tax (if applicable)

If you want to add a special element to your routine, you can purchase the Clarisonic Facial Brush (there is thread about it if you want more info).

Keep us posted if you buy the products.

how about using a bit of jojoba oil to remove your make-up and then cleanse with the castile? are you using a facial brush?

Hi all - I just wanted to chime in as I have been on the new routine for a week now. I couldn't be happier with the results! The only way I can describe it is my skin is glowy and happy.

So happy in fact that I placed another PSF order on Wed. I decided to try the Green Tea Milk Cleanser and see how that compares to the Gentle Castile Cleanser. I may use the green tea one for the winter and the castile for the summer. I also ordered the Moisture Balancing Lotion as I fell in love with the sample.

RCW- If you're out there, I want to thank you sooo much for all your wonderful advice ( as well as your patience with all of your pupils). You truly are a guru
Thanks so much for the info, Windflower. It's very helpful
I'm still experiencing great results from all my products I've been using the PSF cleanser since September and I still have half the bottle left (my husband uses it too).

I've already gone through my first bottle of BHA since January. I started with the 2% and now I'm on the 5%.

I rarely use my emu oil/ HA. My skin just hasn't been dry enough to need it.

Still loving the Vitamin C

I'm also using the micro-crystals 3x a week and I have the pumpkin peel that I do once a week. I'm just trying to exfoliate all of my acne scars away!

Oh, and I also am using a facial brush that I picked up from Sephora for $5.

I think on my next order, I'll get the acne mud mask.
Lilah - a coulple of questions for you.

What is it that you like about the pumpkin peel?
How did you know you were ready to move up to the 5% BHA?

Thanks!

Did either of them sting/burn when you first tried them?

I find the PSF Castile doesn't work well with heavy eyemakeup, so when I'm wearing a lot of shadows/mascara, I usually remove that first with a little oil and then wash with PSF Castile. It's definitely enough to remove my mineral foundation though.

So DMAE is meant for use in the morning before SA.... is it okay to use it in the evening?

What about anything for lightening dark spots.... when does that come in?

DMAE can be used at either end of the day or twice a day (if you can take the dryness it causes)...that's what I do, and I see a lot more results with twice a day than I did with once a day.

BHA and Vit C will lighten a little bit. If you have a lot to lighten though, you should probably try Tri-Luma, which is an Rx combination product of Retin-A, 4% hydroquinone, and topical steroid product.

jerseycurl,

do you have jojoba oil? you can use it to remove your make-up then cleanse with castile.

by the way, to save SA/BHA, you can apply directly to your face without using a cotton pad. if it didn't come with a dropper bottle, i would invest in a glass dropper bottle to use with the BHA.
