Default is shea butter breaking out my skin?

I've been using unrefined shea butter on my face and I think it's causing me to break out. I've been using the oil cleansing method for 6 months and it's working great. I read something that said unrefined shea butter was good for the face. So I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with it or if it's too much for my face. I would appreciate all the help you can offer me.

Apparently it's non-comedogenic. Nevertheless, if it's making you break out, then it's bad for your skin.

Shea butter is really, really heavy. I would only suggest using it if you have very dry skin. If you are remotedly combination or oily, I would stay far, far away from it on the face. It will just break you out unnecessarily.

I would never use shea butter on my acne-prone skin. It's just a pimple-maker to me. I consider shea to be for people who are very very dry and non-acne prone.

I would try grapeseed oil, it makes the skin so smotth, without it being greasy. You willl love it.

I use Clinique's exceptionally soothing creme which is the cream moisturizer in their sensitive skin line that reduces redness, and I love it. Since I've started using it, redness AND pimples have reduced. Point being: it has shea butter. They recommend it for all skin types (Clinique types 1-4), so I would hope they wouldn't recommend it if it caused breakouts or skin reactions. My skin often breaks out from products, too.

Thanks for the replies. I did stop using it and my face is healing. I was really disappointed because I wanted to use something that is good for my skin. Owell. Anyways I'll try the grapeseed oil and the clinique line.
