Please help me determine my skin tone!

Hi guys! I'm looking at buying mineral products (mainly foundation and concealer of any kind) but I am having a VERY hard time figuring out what shade I am! This is the link that is supposed to help:

I'm not sure if I have red, gold, or whatever undertones. To me, it looks kind of blue in my face, but yellow everywhere else. Is that even possible to have blue undertones? Will you guys please help me? I don't have foundation on in these pictures (Just eye makeup and clear chapstick!)

blue? you look pinkish to me.

a quick way to determine undertones that works for most people is to look at the veins in your forearm - if they are bluish in hue, you most likely have pink undertones. if they are green, yellow undertones.

Meowcosmetics.com has the widest color selection of mineral makeup for women of color. They have a forum, where you can post your picture and get help in choosing a color. They are very helpful. Then get some samples and try them at home and under all sorts of lighting and decide which works best for you.

I can see both the bluish ones and the greenish ones. What does that mean?

Hold a white sheet of paper or something bright white next to your face. It'll show you the dominant undertone in your face. From your pictures, I'd guess that you have peach and/or pink undertones and you have more of a neutral skin tone. I also say this because the peach tank top and gold earrings in the second picture look very good on you.

Also, people can have blue undertones. This is associated with people who silver jewelry looks good on but not gold. Many people with this are those with certain types of very pale skin or very dark (ebony) skin.

From the pictures our undertones are very similar, i would say that you have yellow beige undertones, My sis ordered Meowcosmetics.com for my birthday and they are good but you just have to make sure the colors look good in natural light>>>because the ones with the yellow are literally yellow!!! They have test packs though!! I wear MAC c40 full coverage most of the time, though it is heavier than most of the other foundations they have>>it is one of the only colors that matches to the T , I know Mariah Carey and Michael Michelle both wear c40 full coverage. Another company is Becca and you should be able to wear a shade called honey. People really like Becca on makeupalley.com. hope that helps some.

poodle, you fall into the neutral range.

multi, i should know about blue undertones, i have some relatives with "black irish" colouring - but they do tend to pink more than blue.

Thanks for your comments, everyone! I'm thinking I must be neutral, but maybe with slightly more yellow undertones than pink? (My veins are blue and green, but I think more green than blue.) And that was actually a bright orange top in the picture. It's this one here:

Anyway, I'm wondering if I even need a foundation. I've never really used it before. Could I just wear a concealer and the finishing powder stuff? I'm concerned about what it will look like in pictures. My face is lighter than the rest of me, and I want to have a more even skin tone.

I'm getting married, and I know people say to have a professional do it, but I don't know of any who want to do my makeup at 6:00-6:30 in the morning on a Friday. So... Looks like I'll probably be doing it myself. Even if I do find someone to do it, I'll need to have my own makeup, right?

If you have a professional doing your makeup, they bring all the material, unless you want to use your own products.

When I get makeup done at the salon, I only take my foundation, and maybe lipstick (or ill just get one near the shade the professional puts on). If you go to a good salon, they will use great products, you don't need to worry about quality.

That said, your best option, imo, is to get your makeup done by a pro on the wedding day. It is very risky to do it yourself on that special day... Try several professionals (and makeup styles) before, to be sure you get the look you want.

Quirky -- You might want to pm Rouquinne or Subbrock. They're both makeup artists if I remember correctly. Also, if you're paying someone I don't see why he/she would not come out at 6a.m. on a Friday.

you have lovely skin, maybe concealer only where you need it - for most people, that tends to be around the nose.

for a wedding, though, especially since you're going to be photographed, you do want to wear more makeup than usual.

You do have beautiful skin, but i say go all out for your wedding!!!! You can also go to the MAC counter and they will help pick out a foundation color and will show you how to apply the foundation weither you apply it with a sponge or a brush>>> i dont think that you would want the really dramatic eyeshadows and bright lipsticks though!!!!
