Dr. Denese skin care
I did a search and see that a couple of people use this line, but I didn' t see a topic for it. I have recently seen it on QVC and the creator of the line looks amazing for her age. I am interested in trying it. I am most interested in the anti-wrinkle items. Can anyone enligten me?

I saw her, too. She does look amazing, but the sceptic in me says she's either had work done or just has some amazing genes. There's absolutely nothing wrong with cosmetic surgery, but I don't think she looks the way she does due to products.

OH MY GOSH! I USE IT DAILY and LOVE IT.
I am totally a sceptic. I rarely watch QVC but caught her. I decided to order the anti aging trial package for under $32.50. Not too bad. I figured it it didnt work, it wasn't like i spent $100!
Anyway, I've used it for 1 1/2 years now. I use the Dermaclean, Pore Refining Toner, SPF 30 Day Defense Cream, Night Recovery Cream. The biggest reason why I use these products is for Oil Control. I have never found a product that balanced my very oily skin so well. I wasn't even looking for oil control as I figured it was just my plot in life. While using these products, my skin is more normal to lightly oily. No more blotting my skin for oil slicks! The other reason I like her products is that my skin tone is more even than before.
The cleanser is non lather and gentle, non drying
The Toner is gentle and non stinging
The Day Defense is the only sunscreen to NOT feel greasy and shiny
The Night Recovery is moisturizing and smoothing and doesn't contribute to my oil production
I have tried some of her other products, but its very expensive, so I just stick with the basics. My most favorite item is the Day Defense sunscreen. I hate the greasy/shinyness of most sunscreens and hers is like wearing nothing. It's tinted but not like foundation. I just helps to even the skin tone a little, especially if you go bare.
I have tried to use what I thought would be similar to Dr Denese products only cheaper, but I got my oily skin back. It took me almost 2 weeks to get back on track.
Her stuff was surprisingly good.

Yes, I like her products too and also bought her book. The SPF 30 DAY CREME is also my favorite. I haven't worn foundation since I've been using it. I love the pads too, but my budget can only allow the bare necessities of the line and for me it's the Day Cream and the Microdermabrasion Cream. I love the Moisture Shield, but it's too expensive for a small amount of product. It would be something I would have to alternate with something else.
Also, like you, I'm using cheaper more accessible versions of what she recommends too. I love DDF Wrinke Revenge Cleanser, DDF KP Body Scrub and Peter Thomas Roth AHA 12% Body Lotion.

i just saw Dr. Dense on PBS yesterday and did a search to see if there were any past discussions on her products. to those that use them, do you still use them? would you still recommend them? i have serious t-zone oil and some pimples. i am 43 years old and sick of it already, I am looking for a solution.
Anybody else using her products? She does look amazing I must admit.

Hi Marybeth,
The Dr. Denese products worked well for me. Most significant was the reduction in oiliness on my skin. The oil is still there (it helps fight the wrinkles... I'm your age and have few wrinkles), but much more "balanced". My favorite product is the tinted SPF 30 defense cream. The down side to her products is the price. Dr Denese products brought the level of my expectations UP from all previously used facial products.
Currently, I did switch to Mary Kay products (long story) and am using them now with excellent results. But if MK doesn't do it for me anymore, then I would go back to Dr. Denese.
If you do end up purchasing Dr Denese stuff, get the "anti-aging starter kit" to try out. Before you finish the products, you will see results (about 2 weeks). It would be an inexpensive way to try it before investing more into full size products.
Also...the acne thing....I STILL have it too. If it wasn't for Tazorac (Retin A), I'd still be breaking out badly. Now I only get occasional minor acne and I can live with that. Hope you find what works for you!
A product I haven't tried fully yet but I hear is good is DHC. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Good luck.
Razi

razicelli,
thanks so much for the response. i have been very curious about her products after i saw her show on PBS. good to hear that it reduced the oiliness, that is my main problem. i will def purchase the starter kit before i buy any full size bottles. where do you purchase Tazorac? is it prescription?
i saw DHC hair creme mentioned in the General Discussion forum, i was on their website the other day. just the hair creme was mentioned, nothing about how good or bad their skincare line is.
thanks, again!

Marybeth,
Tazorac is prescription only. I am allergic to benzoyl peroxide and nothing over the counter controls my acne. I have been on retin A products (Retin A micro, Differin, Tazorac) since I was 16 with good control. Yes you need a Dermatologist to determine if it will help you. Benzoyl peroxide products are also very good over-the-counter acne meds if you can tolerate them. It worked for me until I developed an allergy to it (very rare thing....lucky me!).
