I finally broke down and started using BM, and I have to say that it mostly lives up to its claims. With any other kind of makeup, I get all excited but quit using it within a few days because it feels so dirty and gross on my face. Granted, I have only been using it for a few weeks now (maybe a month) but that has to be a record for me for continuous makeup use. I have missed a few days but very few.
The BM is really easy to use and does give a great, flawless look. I bought the starter kit and am super-impressed with the coverage and how well the BM works as a concealer when you use their little concealer brush.
I have acne-prone skin so not having to use a sunscreen lotion on my face is a dream come true. It is really important to me to use sunscreen, but they are all so greasy and tend to irritate my skin. So this is great.
My only concerns about it are 1) I'm afraid the SPF 15 claim is too good to be true; I just don't really see how you could get that kind of SPF from a powder, even if it is fairly full coverage. And I have to remember to apply it to my undereye, lid, and brow area with the concealer brush so I am not inadvertantly skipping sunscreen around the eyes (it's not exactly intuitive to put foundation on your eyes, but I don't want to get crow's feet). But I am ignoring this concern for the time being and just assuming the SPF claim is correct because I like it so much.
And 2) It does dry out my skin a little, which is funny because my skin is quite oily. But at least I have the flexibility to choose a moisturizer that works with my skin to put under the makeup. Right now I am using Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Moisturizer around my eyes and mouth (plus maybe a little of an oil blend I made up on days that I feel I need it) before applying the BM, and that seems to be taking care of any flakiness/irritation and is working well.
For pale people like myself--don't expect too much out of the BM colors in the starter kit. I still think it's a very good deal because you get the brushes, mineral veil, Warmth and Glee pigments (I use Glee as blush)--but if you are very pale I would not expect Light or Fairly Light to work for you. Both looked really orangey on me, so I went and bought a full-size of the Fair and I mix it half and half with the Fairly Light to get a great match for my skin. On the other hand, it was weird because I always have to buy the lightest of any foundation so this was a surprise for me: I actually think the Fair on its own is too light for my skin tone. It looks chalky on me. Anyway, I think there may be such a thing as a starter kit containing Fair and Fairly Light instead of Fairly Light and Light, but they don't have it at Ulta. So pale folks may end up not being able to use one or both of the foundations in the kit. Anyway, you could try the testers at Ulta so you could know in advance what to expect from the colors included in the kit.

Back on CG (OK, I'm a little indecisive).
pw: curls
Currently using: Whole Foods 365 Herbal Mint Conditioner (co-wash), MOP Mixed Greens Conditioner, Paul Mitchell Lite Detangler, CK, ISO Bouncy Creme. Gave up on plopping due to tangles/"stickiness" and now I just comb through products and diffuse. It looks basically as good and dries a lot faster (I wasn't getting good clumps from plopping anyway). Still wish I were a lot curlier!
