Default bare escentuals id minerals WOW

i went to sephora today with my best friend & i never wear foundation because it always feels heavy, looks cakey and clogs my pores.

the i.d. minerals from bare escentuals is made from 100% pure minerals and is "so pure you can sleep in it" (although it contains SPF and i wouldnt since that leads to dry skin) its even good for sensitive skin

the lady at sephora used the testers (she cleaned the brushes 1st) to put it on my face and all discoloration in my face (acne marks, redness) was gone. no shine either. my skin also felt like silk & very natural it literally didnt feel like i had makeup on which i loved. it also blended right in and didnt leave that annoying mask line! what i loved more was how i looked in the mirror and my face looked like an airbrushed picture on a magazine i was shocked at how well it worked

of course i HAD to buy the $60 starter kit and if anyone needs a new foundation, i highly recommend this stuff now, its supposed to even improve the condition of skin with continual use

heres the link

I used BE in the summer, but it broke me out- it has Bismuth Oxychloride and Talc in it, which irritate a lot of people's skin. I like Mineral makeup a lot better than liquid foundation- i use j.Lynne Mineral makeup now, which has less ingredients than BE and doesn't break me out at all.

I noticed that one of the drug store type companies(think it was revlon) now has mineral coverage make-up. I have been wanting to try this type of make-up out and it seems like an affordable way.

Edited to add, I went to revlon's website and didn't see it there. Next time I go to Walmart, I'll see which company makes it.

Both Neutrogena and Physician's Formula have mineral makeups now.
I've read mixed reviews about Neutorgena but overall good reviews about PF.

On Craigslist people rave about Jane Iredale over BE but JI is supposed to be much more $$$. I've been using BE for about 2 years and am pretty happy with it but curious now about JI.

LOVE the BE Mineral Vail!

Well, I went to Walmart to check it out since I needed a few things anyway I did see the Physician's Formula, but the one that I had remembered is L'Oreal Bare Naturale. I bought some Couldn't resist. Besides, I needed to throw out my foundation and powder. I think they are over a year old The Bare Naturale is a loose powder, unlike the Physician's Formula which is a pressed powder. It also comes with a brush. It was $12.94 I think, give or take a nickel. I'll try it out tomorrow.

thats not a bad deal...im so obsessed with this stuff now i forget i have it on =) i havent wore foundation in over a year bc i gave up since they all made my skin worse. BE had an overnight treatment there too that helps with acne, fine line, firmness, hydration and i think i have to go back and get it =)

i saw advertisements for the neutrogena one let me know your review. im prob going to stick to BE b/c i got the kit with the skin reviver, 2 foundations, bronzer and mineral veil so they all work together.

im tempted by the eyeshadow now too lol once i find a brand i like i have to get everything bc im such a product junkie

OK I tried the L'Oreal stuff and it was junk. It didn't give me any coverage, and it settled into all the lines in my face making me look so OLD! I took it back to the store and got some true match liquid foundation which looks really good

Lack of coverage is what I've read about the Neutrogena products on Craigslist.
Perhaps when it comes to mineral powders "go get what you pay for"?!?!

I guess so. I was hoping that since minerals have been around awhile, that the drugstore brands finally were catching up. Guess they still have work to do ...

I think I'm the only person who tried BE and didn't like it.

Nope. If you go on www.craigslist.org and search in the Beauty & Fashion Forum you'll find a lot of others that prefer other mineral makeups over BE.
Jane Iredale brand seems to big the big winner over there but I think the foundation powder is around $40.00.

I love mineral makeup. I liked BE but it (and most other brands) are just too much for my budget, so I use an inexpensive mineral makeup that I get on Ebay. Got a great set of natural bristle brushes on ebay for cheap too.

OK, I looked on eBay and they sure are much cheaper. So, how do I find out what color foundation I should buy?

Many of them sell sample packs.
A couple times, when my budget was extra tight, I just ordered a bunch of samples and put them all together in one sifter jar. Voila, cheap and the color matched really well.

That's my question. I think I'm Fair, but not sure. Fairly Light is really close!

I checked Sephora.com, and decided it would be cheaper to buy a kit than to buy items separately, but they don't have anything in Fair.

This would be a good product to try, I think... my skin gets oily through the day, and has been more prone to getting these little flesh-colored pimples since I moved out here. The ordinary cleansers and foundation/concealers aren't working out. Stuff that claims to get rid of and prevent pimples doesn't work! Grrrrrr. Frustrating. I really don't want to spend that much on makeup, but if it works it would be worth it to me. I might try out some samples first, just to be sure.

Fair is more pink/neutral, while Fairly Light is yellow toned.

I found a company called Aromaleigh (www.aromaleigh.com) that makes mineral makeup. I think it blends much better than BE and it's much cheaper too. It comes in 3 times as many shades as well.

I LOVE LOVE Bare Escentuals! It has totally changed the way I wear makeup - never again will I touch a liquid or even a thick powder. I was a MAC wearer for awhile before BE, but it doesn't even come close! I was going to suggest that you check QVC.com for BE... sometimes they have starter sets and good package deals.
