Attention MAC Harlots!

Question for you uber MAC fans... Do you use their foundation, and if so what is your favorite? I seem to see several mixed reviews on them. People who love their eyeshadows, lipsticks, and the studio fix concealer seem a little meh about their foundation, with few exceptions. Face and body seems to be a favorite of most pro makeup artists but from what I can gather you have to work it in, forever. And then a little more.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

And blast you all! I'm now watching several MAC lipstick video's so I can be better prepared the next time I make it to their counter, if they actually have a good selection this time. I keep looking at the ones on the lighter end of the spectrum. I can't do a so called "nude". My lips are more berry colored and anything too light looks alien on me. I have to start with a dark beige or browny pink or mauve. Too many pretty colors!

* I can't really tell from hand swatches to pictures if Blankety or Viva Glam II would be too light. They look good in a swatch but much lighter on a person. I'm going to have to test.

I've made my official wish list. I don't even know if some of these are still available, or if they will have them at my counter, but at least I have a start.

Impassioned
Full Speed
Flat Out Fabulous
All Fired Up
Girl About Town
Show Orchid
Russian Red (that's been on my list for a little while)

In the more neutrals I want to look at Chatter Box, Blankey and Viva Glam 5. I really like it but it looks similar to the Estee Lauder Tiramisu Shimmer that I just got in a free gift.

I love a good soft rose gold glow, but it did not turn out well when the woman swatched it. These all seemed to have a problem adhering to the skin (she said she had never dan into that before). You really couldn't see the first, the second, Seen to be Seen, was bold but again didn't blend well. The third, Perfectly Poised, was so beautiful but I am not sure I could wear it. It was very soft, which is a plus for me, but I have a hard time with things in the orange range. I can not wear the color. Sometimes I can pull off a deep rust, some light coppers, and a more pink coral. I envy people who can pull it off. It's a big color this fall & winter, so I expect to see a lot of it.

first things first...

MAC is offering free EXPRESS shipping TODAY ONLY to addresses in Canada and the US with code BAKER at checkout!!!

Fifi, MAC long ago discontinued the foundation formula that i liked so i started looking around. this summer, they introduced Mineralize foundation and i really like it. it's more liquid, offers good coverage and is buildable without having to work it in forever.

also, i think VG 5 is the lipstick you might be looking for. VG2 is very light.

back when it first came out, so many of us with different skin tones were wearing VG 5, we called it the unofficial NC lipstick!

Thank you, Rou!

VG 5 is beautiful. I finally saw someone put 2 on their lips and no! As you said, it is very light.

I've been curious about their foundations. It's rare that I find reviews where people are as wild about them as they are the lipsticks, brushes, shadows and concealers.

I really wouldn't mind trying Face and Body, but it sounds like one you need to use when you have ample time to get ready. I'm curious about the consistency.

I just tried my first MAC lipstick. See Sheer. What a pretty color! and I like the texture. It may become my HG lipstick. That exact color is not easy to find. Clinique does something similar but I like the texture of the MAC better.
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
