Talking Hello! :)

Hello Everyone!
I've made the decision to go natural and embrace my 3b curls (still not 100% sure about my hair type).

I've been visiting this site for about 2 months now and I'm loving the education that I'm receiving. The tips, articles, and CurlTalk are both informative and very helpful. But I need more!

I have 2 different hair types on my head which makes it very difficult to style. More 3b, bouncy, shiny curls upfront combined with wavy-straight bangs and ends in the back of my head (please see attachment). >< Can you see my dilemma? My hair tends to be on the dry side. I am a true product junkie.

I like my curls but I'm still not satisfied. I don't like the dry, frizzy, crunchy feel that my hair has after styling. I would like curls that are moisturized, defined, bouncy, shiny and soft. Also 2 or 3 day hair would be great. Is that too much to ask? Looking forward to learning from all of you and sharing what limited knowledge I have.

Love Your Curls, Love Yourself,

Welcome! And congratulations on your decision; I know it's not one that is made easily.

We look forward to getting to know you.

Try starting here: Texture, Porosity, and other Hair Type Madness

Also do you use heat often? That could be one of the reasons why your curl pattern isn't relatively uniform. What is your product line up like? And what's your current hair regimen?

@Gretchen: thank you!

@pprMACHEheart: I dry my hair with a diffuser on low heat on a daily basis. However I've only been a CG for a couple of months now and before that I used heat A LOT. My mom said the same thing about the heat affecting my curl pattern.

Since I'm new at this I've been working a bunch of different things into my regimen, but for the past week it's been:

Every 2 Days
DT (Overnight): SheaMoisture DT Masque. {I seal in the moisture with a mix of EVOO, EV Avacado Oil, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil and Water}

Low-poo: SheaMoisture Retention Shampoo

Daily
LI: SheaMoisture DT Masque

Apply:
SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
Argan Oil
Spray with my oil mix to seal it in
KCCC
Loreal EverPure Smooth Frizz Free Serum
SheaMoisture Hold and Shine
Organix BKT Flat Iron Spray (just for heat protection)

I also finger comb so that I don't disturb my curl pattern. Then when mostly dry I finger diffuse it.

As a bit of an update I feel the SheaMoisture DT Masque is too heavy as a Leave-in for my hair. I just picked up AO Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner to use as a co-wash, possibly as a leave-in I'll see how it goes.
