Hello My name is Kaylee, I am 18 years young, and originally I am from dry, hot, Texas, where from the time I was 12, up until August last year, I would religiously straighten my hair EVERY DAY with no heat protection once so ever! My hair was dried and fried to a crisp! and one day I decided to chop it all off and get a new start! Since Aug. 2011 I've been growing my hair back out, deep conditioning it along the way. Haven't had a trim up until recently (afraid I might lose what little length I finally got) and I kicked that straightner to the curb! I now live in Florida where my hair tends to friz. I use a leave in conditioner that seems to do the trick most of the time, I am obsessed about learning how to make my hair the healthiest it can be. I am excited to hear from everyone and share hair tips! I feel like I've made a huge transition, and I can't wait to make the best of my natural curly hair as it grows. I believe I am a 3a, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I'm still a work in progress! Feel free to talk to me! I'm still learning my way about this site
I posted a hair time line, picture number 1 (pardon my boyfriend kissing my head lol) shows how dried and miss treated my curls where from constant heat damage. At that point no matter what I did, my hair would not curl
Picture 2 Is my hair when I cut it off around a year ago, it was around chin length in the front, and a half inch in the back (to spike it) soon after getting this cut I did away with my flat iron.
Picture number 3 is a more recent pic, of how my curls started to develop and shine more like they are supposed to!
Picture 4 is my hair the day before i decided to suck it up, and sacrifice some length to get the dead ends trimmed off.
Lastly, the picture not in the time line was taken a week ago, after i got my trim! Comparing the first and last pic, i'd say i've come a loooong way. And still have a long ways to go
Thank you for reading <3
