I've been so patient until i realized I have scab hair

Hello

My last perm was Oct 2011 and I've been patient in the process, Moisturizing maybe not as much as I should. I Co-wash every other day, Shampoo every two weeks or so and I try to remember to deep condition every other week. I use pure coconut oil and some products that contain mineral oil which I know I shouldn't use. I never had a problem with dry hair besides around my hairline and now that I have grown out a good length of natural hair im discovering that the hair around my hairline could be scab hair. Its straight and dry where the rest of my hair is soft and curly. This has become discouraging for me because I've been ready to big chop for the past three months. I've cut three or four "test patches" over the last three months and now im limited to either a ponytail or wearing it up in a banana clip.

Oh, dear. That can be frustrating. You might just wave to wait a few more months while it all heals up.
