Red face What Have I Gotten Myself Into? =)

Hello all, my name's Bekka and I'm already feeling a little over my head with information, but excited. My BFF has been natural for 5 years and has steadily encouraged me to do the same. I haven't gotten a relaxer since December and decided now is as good a time as any to actually put forward the effort to go natural rather than waiting for my next treatment.

I've been getting relaxers since I was 10/11 so I haven't even the slightest idea what my hair looks like naturally. With ~3" of new growth, I'll be transitioning to my eventual full head of 3B/3C hair. Wish me luck! =D

Here's what the madness looks like so far:

Welcome.

It's really great being natural...I can't tell u how much I love not caring if my hair gets wet...I never carry an umbrella and my hair is so moisturized... that humidity and frizz aren't even part of my vocabulary anymore.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

Hi there!

As frustrating as hair can be, it's amazing how much fun it can be when you learn how to deal with it!

My favorite thing about participating here has been the feeling of "belonging" after I read all the crazy things we've all done with our hair in the past. It's amazing how life-changing it can be to just "let it go" with the curls.
