Default Newly Curly, I dont understand my hair at all!Help

Omg. I am so frustrated. I posted a picture below to see If you all can help me determine the best products for my hair. As well as my Hair Type.! I need help. My hair looks like that in the picture below, before it dries. BUT, after it starts drying, there is absolutely no curl pattern, and just a frizzy mess. I did my big chop Sept 7, 2012. I havent really used oil on my hair yet. I do use a hydrating pudding by Motions,.Ive tried many products in my household until I go out and buy some new ones. Either way, I still need help determining my hair type, and why is it so so frizzy, with absolutely no pattern once it dries? The first picture is it dried, it looks like it has some definition to the pattern but its just a big puff, I can pick out some curls but a lot of it is just frizz.
