Talking Newbie :)

Hi everyone!

After struggling all my life trying to manage my curly hair, I finally found this site. I've been trying out the CG method for a little over a week and am LOVING the results . Even though it hasn't been very long, my hair is already like night and day from how it was before.

I'm still trying to figure out ways to shorten drying time. When I let it dry completely on it's own, it takes about 4.5 hours. I plopping with a t-shirt and lightly diffusing and have it down to about 2.5 hours. My goal is to shorten it by another half hour or so. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know

Welcome, MadelynnKnisley! Isn't this a great place?? So glad you're seeing results so quickly. Drying time is an issue many of us struggle with. 2.5 hours is pretty darn good. My only suggestion would be to diffuse a little longer. You may want to use the search engine on this site and look at posts about "pixie diffusing." Many curlies have success with that method.

I, too, find 2 1/2 hours good! And I don't have a lot of hair.

Curls Like Us Curl Cloths - CurlMart are great. I put products in soaking wet hair, wrap in a Curlease towel while I dress and put on make up, scrunch with CLU towel and then diffuse for a few minutes.

Welcome!!

2.5 hours is good!! I once plopped too long accidentally and it took, believe me or not, 10 hours @_@... After waiting and waiting till it was dry, I just gave up and went to sleep, and when I woke up, it was still wet (well, damp) . _____ .

When I plop properly, plopping also greatly reduces the drying time ^-^

I second the advice to diffuse a bit longer

And maybe you can scrunch some extra water out with microfiber/cotton gloves/cloth.
