I've always have a mix of curl patterns in my hair and I wasn't sure if I should be posting in the 3a or 3b sections. Can anyone help me identify what I have?
The canopy usually has the tightest curls while the bottom layer is usually finicky - it can go from big 3A curls, to very loose S-waves, to totally straight. Half the time the curl will fall out of the very bottom layer if haven't put a ton of product on it.
I've always had super curly hair that my mom used to dry brush when I was in elementary school, so I had a lot of damage when I started doing the curly girl method in 2004ish. While I had a big setback in college due to my hair hating
the super hard water on campus, I've been doing some variation of this method ever since. It's really healthy and shiny right now, but it's taken a long time to get to this point.
First image is from summer 2011 (first time using a keratin product) - only thing in my hair here is "Coppola Keratin Complex Infusion Keratin Replenisher" and "Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Firm Hold Gel"
The crown usually doesn't curl that well unless I've let it dry up in a bun... which lets me know that it's due to the weight of my hair rather than the pattern I think.
From last night: My hair definitely gets temperamental based on the weather or products I use, so it has not been happy this winter. My canopy is showing it's dryness here with the frizz/separated curl.
(I'm also very sorry for the stupid "trying to take a picture" faces I'm making
The only product I'm using here is the "Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Firm Hold Gel"
What do you think?
