Smile Hey everyone :)

I thought I should finally introduce myself. I've been browsing these forums for a few years now and I made an account in April.

My name is Ash and I live in Canada. I'm 19 years old. I have what I believe to be type 3a hair with low porosity. I have no volume at my roots and my curls start at my ears (in most areas). I'm not sure about the thickness of my hair because when I get my hair cut my stylist will usually tell me that I have really thick hair, but it feels like I just have a lot of medium-thickness hair. My hair is colored.

I've just recently started using a sulfate-free shampoo (LaCoupe Orgnx Coconut & Macadamia Oil Nourishing Shampoo) and silicone-free conditioner (Aveda Be Curly Conditioner). I'm allergic to most scented products and parabens so I really need to be careful in choosing my hair products. I started this maybe two weeks ago. I definitely need to wash my hair more often lately, but I guess my hair is just getting used to this.

I noticed that my hair was becoming more and more dry when I was using sulfates and silicones and it was also very tangled so I decided to try this method. My hair is still dry and tangled on the days that I wash. On the 2nd and 3rd days my hair is not as dry, but still tangled. I'll be getting a trim next Friday to get rid of my dead ends.

I just bought Live Clan Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Restorative Conditioner (cone free) and I'm going to try using that as an overnight deep conditioner tonight. I'm also in the process of finding a styling cream, gel, or mousse (I used to use mousse in Jr. High).

Sorry for the long introduction I just wanted to let everyone know what I'm doing with me hair right now. Hopefully this all works out for me. I would love to love my curls!

I can say the curly girl method has REALLY helped my hair even though I shampoo occasionally with a silicone/sulfate free shampoo.
