Hi there! Welcome to the site! What I have really learned while participating in these forums is that your curl pattern doesn't really matter at all when it comes to taking care of your curls. What you will really need to figure out is your hair porosity, texture, density, and elasticity. Determining those things will help you make decisions about what products your hair will respond best to.

There is a lot of info in the getting sticky posts (START HERE etc.) that will get you started. You can also do a search in the forums, on naturallycurly, or an Internet search for each of those things.

Just as an example, My hair type is 2B, but I have fine, normal porosity, normal elasticity, medium density hair. Most 2B hair types tend to moisturize with lighter conditioners, but I use much heavier conditioners because my hair craves moisture.

It really is a time consuming process, but do NOT let that deter you! It is so worth it in the end, and I have never been happier with my curly hair.

Hi CrazyCat. I'm also from the Emerald Isle (Dublin) but have been living in Zante since 2006. I also have 3a curls and have only being doing the CG friendly routine since Feb of this year. You're lucky you live in Ireland as I think you'll find CG friendly products in the African shops. I have to order all my stuff on line as there's no CG friendly products here on the island. I will however, check out the African shops in Athens when I go in a few months time. malobee is right, the first thing you need to do is check out your hair's porosity, texture, density, and elasticity, porosity being the most important (in my view). There's lots of curlies raving about the Tresemme Naturals line which I'm sure you can pick up in the big supermarkets. I don't know as I haven't been home in 4 years so when I do come home for a visit, I think I'll be very excited to check out who stocks what and to see my family and friends of course lol. Here's where I order my products at the mo, both in the UK: Curly Hair, Curly Hair Cuts, Curly Hair Care, Curly Hair Products, British Curlies and Hair Extensions | Wigs | Hair Care | Skin Care online at Paks. Now accepting PayPal with Cheapest E. I'm using the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hisbicus line which is great for my high porosity hair. Good luck and let me know how you're getting on.
