Default What's a good H2O preservative for home-made mist?

Hello, I am interested in doing some experimenting with making some mist formulas. Was wondering what ingredients might be recommended - such as essential oils - or if there are any things which should be avoided also. Also wondering what sort of preservative can be used to keep the water from going bad.

You might have better luck with responses posting this question in the Recipes or Natural hair care forums.

Default The ultimate preservative

You are wanting to get Grape Seed Extract not Grape Seed Oil. Grape Seed Extract does everything you need. It is an anti viral, an anti microbial, an anti fungal, and an anti bacterial.
Raw honey is an anti microbial.
Tea Tree is an anti fungal and anti bacterial.
Vitamin E oil- at least 1400 IU for natural hair care products!
Rosemary is an anti fungal and anti bacterial.
Sage is an anti fungal and anti bacterial.
The ratios for the Preservatives (EO) is 1 teaspoon to 5 cups of product.
Anytime I use honey, I use raw honey. And I always use the Grape Seed Extract! Hope this helps.

Do you have a particular brand of grape seed extract that you use? I've been trying to hunt this down for a while now and I always seem to find the extract with other additives or it's in pill form which doesn't lend itself to mixing with other products. Thanks!
