New here intro with an HG question

Hi! I came across this site a year or so ago when searching for info on the CG book (which I bought). But I've found myself rediscovering it all again as I was searching for a new haircut/style for an appt on Mon.

I definatly fall in the 2a/3a range depending where the hair is sprouting from on my head. Very 3a-isque around the hair line and top to mid point on the back of head, but my sides are 2a. So I'm on a never ending quest to get it to look all 3a - derperatly seeking definition! Another hurdle I'm trying to work around is my very, very fine hair and my oily scalp. Oh yeah... forgot to mention that this curly hair seemed to arrive virtually overnight when I turned 30 (I'm now 34). So this hair is still new to me!

I had stick straight hair from babyhood through my teens, then in my 20's it went all frizzy with no wave or curl in sight and then voila, at 30, I've got CURLS and waves! The same thing happens to a lot of members in my family when they hit the 30 mark - I have no idea why. I don't know why I was so surprised when it happened to me. Geez, now I feel bad when I teased my older brother when his hair turned curly/kinky. If he doesn't keep it super short he looks like Kramer!

Oh yes... my HG question. What does HG mean? I tried to figure it out from other posts but couldn't. I had to limit my lurking to 3 hours max (that's how much I'm enjoining this forum and site).

TIA and looking forward to hearing any of you!
