Hello, another new member

Hello everyone! I can't believe how many curly-haired people want to talk about hair. Makes me feel not so alone in my own frustrations with it. I certainly haven't mastered mine yet. I just ordered the CurlyGirl book and Deva products in a kit. I'm anxious to read the book, because I've always thought there must be some answers to my hair challenges (other than the wet-crunchie look), but no one has ever been able to help me in a salon other than to sell me some gel or something. And I've been asked many times by the stylist "Do you ever straighten your hair?" as if this would be a better solution. No one has ever suggested shampooing less. I do have a stylist right now who has curly hair herself (though she doesn't wear it that way) and cuts my hair dry. Anyway, I'm glad to have found this site!
