Hi everyone! I'm new here, but not to natural hair. I've been natural for close to 10 years, and still learning about it!

So I've been reading all the post and doing my homework, and I know the first thing I need to do walking away from the heat tools. We'll see.

Hi!! When was your last relaxer?

I am in the transitioning process too! I don't really know my hair type but put 4a for the sake of the boards! It can get overwhelming at time but we're going to help each other through this process!

Hi all! I am new to the forum, but I have been coming to the site for some time now.

I'm natural, I have been for 1 year and 2 months. I am type 4a, with 3c in the back. I transitioned for 8 months. I have a pretty set regimen, but I have yarn braids in now as my protective style. I'll be doing protective styles throughout the winter. I have a (natural) hair blog, it's mostly documenting my growth, styles, and products I have tried, you can check out if you want. Beautiful Kinks

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello!

Lightbulb Dry & brittle hair

I am writting to ask what products I should start with to help my hair I use to perm it but I have stopped because of the chemicals, I would like to just go natural now I am 56yrs what is your recommendations for this process, according to the
hair type I am a 3-a? But it could be because of the chemicals I have been without a perm now for about 2 months.

Any suggestions would be greatly apprecieated.

Hi All!

I'm a new member although I've visited the site numerous times. I was given a few referrals to join and thought I had joined. But I guess not. Well, I'm a 2 year (Sophomore) natural. I love it. By far one the 10 best things ever. I'm learning all the time and enjoying getting to know my hair again and again. I'd say my hair falls in a wide range of curl patterns, primarily it's softest texture is from ears to the nape of my neck. I'd classify it primarily as 3.

My favorite time is wash time. I love water now, as it was the frenemy during my creamy crack days. I like to keep it simple. The less I touch my hair the happier it is. I've tried and tested many products from high end to low. I prefer the cheaper as better instead of giving huge markets my endorsement for free. I can style my hair for under $5 so I know that if I'm going to invest $100 it better not require anything more than what the package promises.

I'm going to take some time and tread the space here, getting more familiar. But in the meantime and in between time, thanks for the place and I'll catch in coils!

Default Newbie

Hello everyone,
I am new to curltalk but have been really interested in joining in on the various conversations. I have also been busy coming up with my own line of products and would like to start introducing them out to more people. The product line is called The Love of People, which are all natural based hair products. You can view our site at theloveofpeople.com. I have taken alot of the various comments from people who have used our products and that I have viewed on various videos and blogs into consideration when coming up with this line and I hope you all will try and enjoy.

Default Hey

Hi, I'm K. Kurl, aka Kelly from Yreka, CA. I've been a member here when I was in high school. Then I tried to join again later and it wouldn't let me. Finally I'm back and my hair and I are glad!

Hi, I'm Lindsay from Oklahoma. I have been living the curly-girl life since my hair turned curly 10 years ago, but I'm ready to take the next step and enhance my curls. I think I'm a 3b, but I'm not positive. I do not cut or trim my hair. I'm looking to make my curls more healthy and uniform.

Only one quarter of my post was posted, how come?!
Anyway, I've known naturallycurly for more than a year, I tried no poo for 1,5 a year and 8 months ago resigned from no-poo. No-cones+coco oil works much better for me!

Hi all,

I'm not new to this site but I'm new to the forum.
I've been transitioning now unofficially for 10 months and officially for 5mos. I am planning on BC'ing on my 1yr anni post relaxer towards the end of Feb or beginning of March. I'm very excited and since getting started on this journey, I've become completely obsessed with hair and a total PJ

Smile New and Excited

Hello All,

I have had natural hair my entire life. My aunt being a hairdresser always kept my hair perfectly styled but we had no idea about the great hair products available for women and men with curly hair. I am so happy I found you guys and I placed my first order last week. I have been washing my hair with conditioner and lemon juice for 2 years because shampoo was so drying but I never knew the wealth of information available or about CG. Expect lots of posts from me!

Hi! I'm Ana and I'm Portuguese. Been a lurker for some time and finally decided to become a member.

I think my hair might be 2c/3a (most likely 2c), it has normal porosity and normal elasticity. I don't know whether my hair is thick, or it's fine and i just have a lot of it ahah.

I've been using a lot of silicones on my hair, with poor results, so I am more than willing to go CG. Actually, I'm going for a haircut today, have some layers done and get rid of split ends to start the process.

Default One year on

Happy New Year all,

My name's Wunmi and I just turned a year natural - love it!

this is my first time actually posting to a 'hair board' but was encouraged by the thought of the sea of information that is available on such sites.

I live in England, UK and have got my 4b? hair down to a T during the summer months (feels and looks great), but can not seem to keep my hair moisturized in the Winter. During the summer I add a tiny about of glycerin under my styling products, but find in winter this technique seems to give me alot more shrinkage and my hair feels dryer.

HELPPP!!!

Talking

Hi all i have a been to this site off and on for awhile but recently started lurking on these boards. Im pretty sure i have 4b hair..even though i just noticed 4c hair..so maybe im some of that too..its kinky thats all i know lol
Anyway, I cut my hair short last year after years of braids, relaxers, and weaves which resulted in major damage so i chopped it off...but I didnt really know how to take care of it properly, so i steady relied on products packed with mineral oil and cones to make my hair "behave" which didnt turn out too good, As a result i hated my hair so much i gave up and went to wigs and then weaves to cover up the damage.. but recently i have seen youtube videos and blogs of women just like me growing healthy beautiful kinky hair and if they can do it..SO CAN I! So im on a mission to take care of my hair the right way. I already have learned so much from this site and the ladies here there is so much to learn.
I can honestly say that i am SO EXCITED to start my hair care journey this year
.... its great to meet you all
