Heya!
Hey guys I'm new to this site, specifically to these message boards. I've been browsing the site for a while and have found a lot of useful tips for my curly hair.
Also, my name is Sarah I think I have 3b curls, if I'm not mistaken.

Hi everybody!
I just registered after browsing the site and being amazed by the before and after CG picture thread. I immediately ordered the book on Amazon. I have a question though about starting Curly Girl. Does the season/weather affect how difficult it is to transition? It is summer & humid in NJ right now and I am wondering if I should wait until autumn when it's not as humid? Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks!!!

Introduction
Hello all. I have been debating on going natural for awhile now and have just become irritated with the process of getting a relaxer from the cost to the chemical burns. My last relaxer was in May and after continued research via internet and talking to friends and family members who are natural, I have decided I am ready to take this journey. I was thinking about doing a long term transition. I am glad I found this website and look forward to chatting with you all for advice as well as encouragement. So if you all have any advice for someone just starting out I am willing to take it.

Hey all,
Greetings from Paris (but I'm actually a brazilian living here). I'm so happy I've found this website today, I think I never felt so understood
I'm still taking a look at all the sections but I already love it!
My hair type is between 3b and 3c (I think it's mostly 3b but not very sure!).
It's so difficult to find out products and salons and all when you have no references... I have never met a hairdresser who really understands curly hairs, when I have to cut my hair is always a drama because I'm almost sure I'm gonna regret... So I have just cut my own hair this saturday... It's not the most gorgeous think ever but honestly it's not bad and I really feel good! Specially because the most expensive haircut I've paid for is the one I've hated the most!!! So this time it didn't cost any money and I was not too disapointed!
I've started to co-wash my hair today, but I can't really tell what's gonna be since the haircut is also "fresh" and I need time to find out how my hair is gonna behave with both...
Ok enough of blablabla! Nice to meet you all

Help for my baby girl!
Hello All,
My name is Shaunta and I have a 9 month old baby girl. She has extremely dry hair...I would say she is a 4a every where except the front top of her hair which is probably a 3. This has been this way since she was born. Skipped right over the silky baby hair and I guess she gets this from her momma! Anyway what can I use to keep her hair from being detangled and looking so dry? Evertyhing I have used miss jessie's, carols daughter, all of the natural oils...just gets soaked up. Oh and I only wash her hair once a week.
Thanks

Newbie
Hello,
I've been natural now for about 10mos and I have to admit its been hard thus far. I decided not to do a big chop. So I allowed the perm the grow out, I think i may have a inch of perm left at the ends. I have been going for trims.
My problem is hair styles, I don't know enough about natural hair to wear different styles. So i after washing and conditioning i would blow dry and then flat iron. I would like to stop flat ironing. I tried a two-stranded twist on my wet hair and i did not like how it came out. It came out curly but the ends were straight. Plus there was no volume. What am I doing wrong? I believe i am a 3c.
Can anybody give me any recommendations for hair styles?
I hope i have provided enough info.
Thanks!
(current time is 6:59pm - eastern time)

The permed ends won't respond well with two strand twists.. When I transitioned I had to use perm rods on the permed hair... I eventually cut the permed hair off because rolling the ends with perm rods became an every night routine...

Hi!
Hi everyone, I am soooo excited to new to this website. I love my hair but occasionally it drives me crazy, so insted of wearing it down I always wear it in a cute updo with a braid or curls hanging down. Now I want to find some products that tame my curls into soft, and frizz free.

Heyy
Hi
I've been going natural for almost 5 or 6 months. My first question is what is a good product to weigh down 3b hair without making it hard or sticky. When I first started out I would weight my hair down with gel and I realized now how ugly and unhealthy. So now I just use leave in conditioner my favorite being "Mixed Chicks" I also use Garnier Fructis. But I was wondering if there is any other product I can use to decrease my volume. I have 3b hair and by the end of the day I just wanna hide under a rock because it's soo frizzy. So any help Where to buy??? Thnxxx

To Whom This May Concern,
Greeting from NewJersey..
A few months ago i went to the salon to get a blow out and the beautician suggested Keratin to ease my frizz and to calm my curls down so its easier to do my hair. I went for it and now regret ever making a horrible decision! She promised my natural hair would come back to life in 6 months but its been almost a year and i tried everything. Please help me. Now my hair texture is wavy and the ends are completly straight i have medium hair length and need my curls back. Help me!!!!

Good Morning!
I am new to this site and am excited about becoming part of this community! I have been natural for 10 years, however I didn't begin to truly embrace my 4a curly locs until about 3 1/2 - 4 years ago. I decided that my hair is an extension of me and how I feel about it is a reflection of the person that I am. It's the hair that I was blessed with and so I must love it no matter what. I hope that I can learn many new things as well as share my knowledge as well. I look forward to meeting new people/friends on my quest for continued beautiful, healthy hair.

Twister is my name, new to the CG game. Shout out from Michigan .
I am learning alot of new curly things from this site, glad I found it. Let me tell you about myself. 43, naturally curly 3a/3b thinning, fine sometimes highlighted. My hair loves protein and oil. Found that out by reading things from this site. Just started using Sheamoisture curl enchancing smoothie and Organix argan morroccan oil. My hair loves both!!! Stay tuned as I learn and share more things about my 3a/3b hair!!!
Wash: ACV every other day, cond: Pantene curly, daily
Product: Morrocan oil, Shea moisture smoothie, Pantene curly gel for crown
air dry, then diffuse upside down

hello! i've cut off my shoulder length 2b/c waves to a sweet pixie. My hair started falling out due to my eating disorder, stress and depression, and just became dry and dead, dead, dead. Now my body and soul are at a healthy, happy place and i'm going to take care of my locks so i can have loong curly hair because it is something i've always wanted to do

Hello,
I too am new to the NC site. I have visited the site to do a little research before going full blown NC. I recently ordered the book, and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. I am coming to the site with open arms to all and any help that will assist in gaining back those healthy bouncy curls that I know are possible to have.

Loving my NC hair!!
Hey! I'm also new to NC. I've been transitioning from my perm for about a yr & a half and about 3 days ago I was thinking about going all natural.I knew that if I did i'd have to cut out the rest of my perm, and depending on how short I cut it i'd have to be prepared to have great hair products and accessories in stock. I began to research and found this website!! It definitely fueled my decision and I ended up cutting my hair that night! I am now COMPLETELY natural and I LOVE it. I feel so free and I feel like myself! Naturallycurly.com has definitely helped me dot that and I love browsing to find new helpful ideas!
