i love this forum and glad to find so many curly wavy and kinky hair people discussing their hair here.. it seems fun! looking forward to enjoy this site!!
Hi. I'm from a very small town in California called Yreka, and I've known you're site for years since I was a teenager (I'm in my twenties now) and have always loved it. I especially love hearing feedback and posting questions from the girls with such speed and care. Always glad to be back!!

Greetings from Richmond, VA. Newly BC'd & soooo excited to share information, try new products and meet fellow naturals. I'm a college sophomore rocking a TWA & a proud 4a/b. It's amazing, loving it so far so any tips or advice you all like to share will be gladly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi everyone. I've been a long time lurker, first time poster. Very interesting stuff at Curl Talk. I'm learning A LOT!
Hey, all! I've been lurking for months now, figured I should post here! I'm a SAHM of two (homeschooled kindergartner and 19mo) in Northern VA. I think I'm a 2c/3a with fine hair and low porosity. Considering I have always been told my hair is "ornery" and not curly, I'm just happy to realize the truth--I'm curly!
Hello!
I've been reading the site for a few months now, first time to post. Had been relaxing my hair for 9 years and started growing it out natural since March 2011. Trying to get used to having it curly again, since my entire teenage life it was relaxed. I have 3c hair and it has it's ups and downs. Really looking forward to all the great info on here!
Hello Emily,

That's the best support system! You are going to love the results once you transition. A friend of mine had lost most of her edges and since going natural she has her edges back

Hello all!

I am new to this site and just decided to go natural after my wedding in November. Hubby is supportive but worried a little. I have what I think to be 3b/c hair. It is thin. I am black, but there is definitely some white and american indian in my ancestry. Looking forward to my transition which I made because of my thin hair and damaged edges.

Hi everyone. My name is Candace and I've come to this site tired of purchasing and throwing away Shampoos, conditioners and styling products!!! My boyfriend is starting to think I have a fetish but I would really just like to find the perfect solution for my curls. I recently switched to silicon & sulfate free cleanser and conditioner. My hair has had its ups and downs over the years and as of right now I'm in a serious "down". I believe I'm a 2b/3a. My hair is very thick! My closest hair doppelgänger is probably Shakira. I really love this site and I've already learned so much!!! Thank You!

Here is my hair over the past couple years, maybe someone can help me with my hair type?

Current - no color - terrible cut - dry & unhealthy looking

2010 - brown with highlights - small bang - pretty healthy looking

2009 - colored reddish brown (not sure if I like this) - good cut
hey all i am really new to this forum thing. i'm really having a problem at night and waking up with squished curls. my hair is too short to pineapple and my satin bonnet makes it really compact. what do i do?!
Hiya! I'm a 13-year old girl from the Bay Area. (Near San Francisco, California--basically).
Most of the time I keep my hair pressed, but I've always loved naturally curly hair. Tomorrow, I'm going to wash it and see what it looks like--as I haven't actually seen my curly hair in a good 3 years...
Anywho, just thought I'd say hello.
Hi all! I am currently transitioning...its been a year and 2 months since my last relaxer!!!1 I am so proud of myself...I hope to learn something in this forum from all the beautiful ladies

Hi all. My name is Jenni and I am a brand new curly girl! I have lurked here for a few days and am loving all the fabulous pics of your gorgeous hair! I am somewhere between a type 2B and 2C (I think. It is getting curlier as I go). Maybe someone can tell me what curl type they think I am?

Hello everyone,

I'm Stacie - a 26 yr old female from Birmingham, England. Twice in the last ten years I've let my natural hair grow out (using extensions) only to find I had no idea how to take care of it. So I resorted to relaxers, and both times, my hair broke due to chemical processing. I've learned my lesson now and I've decided to grow out my hair for good - my last relaxer was May 2010. There is an overwhelming range of goods and amount of information out there for looking after naturally curly hair. I'm going to take my time and find the best processes and products (I'm a bit of a product junkie) and I reckon this is a great place to start.

My hair type is 3c/4a but due to the braids I wear all the time, it's thin, short and very frizzy around the edges. I don't really get the time to appreciate what my hair is like or experiment with products because I get the braids replaced within days of taking them out. Now though, I'm tired of braids so I'm ready for something new
Hi Stacie, how long is your natural hair now?

How are you transitioning, and how long is your hair?
Sorry, I tried to delete my post because I seem to have put it in the wrong place, but it won't let me delete it, just edit it.
