Hi, I´m a newbbie too...
I am a guy, I know it´s not so usual to see guys in forums like this, but, well, I have veeery curly hair (right in the middle between 3c and 4a according to what I´ve read9. And as you all know curly heads it´s a fight against frizz and dryness and all those horrible enemies we had, so I thought it would be a good idea to hear something from people who have been having the same issues...
I actually happened to hate my hair, and the funny thing is that I looooved curls in other people, but mine looked so awful, until one day I really found my hidden beautiful curls when I started using Redken smooth down range and Tigi Curls **** Amplifier, it was like ¨wtf! Miracles happen¨hahaha. But, now I guess the formula was changed or something because Tigi products are not working as they used for me...
So I´m here to learn more about taking care my curls and know about more miracle products.
I hope I hadn´t bored you, and I´m sorry for my english, I´m from South America, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I´m doing my best to writing this in english... :s
Well, you´ll hear from me and all my questions

This is some info I should bookmark. This will help me as I've had naturally wavy/curly hair all my life.

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for this website. I'm new on the forums, but I've been lurking and learning for a couple of months. I am in my 30s, but I just thought my hair was poofy and frizzy and hard to style until a couple of years ago when a friend said "just use some mousse after your shower." How eye opening - I had curly/wavy hair instead of wavy poofy frizzy hair! Before that I had never used a product on my hair besides shampoo/condish. Ever since then I've been googling and looking up videos on YouTube for how to care for my naturally curly hair. This site has so much great information, and the wavy 2's board I've been lurking on seems so positive and helpful, so I finally joined. Thanks!

Introduction
Hi, I am African American. I have 3C/4A Hair type. I am currently transitioning. I had applied my LAST perm in September. I am not ready for a Big Chop as of yet. I am however, looking forward to the Big Chop by next year February.
I am using different products to see what works for me, based on Reviews and compatibility with my hair type.
Shampoo:
Ultra Care Sulfate-Free Hydrating Shampoo
A sulfate-free solution to hydrate and untangle sulfate-tired tresses with every wash. Ultra Care’s Moisture Blend™ Complex fortifies the hair’s natural softness for touchable, moisturized hair. ( This Shampoo is Fantastic, does NOT strip the hair nor does the hair feel dry)
Conditioner:
Patene Pro V - Dry to moisturized
& Smooth N Shine Silk Fusion at the same time ( makes the hair so soft and manageable)
Leave in Conditioner:
Ultra Care Hydrating Leave-in Creme Conditioner
This creamy, hydrating leave-in conditioner formulation provides maximum moisture to condition dry, dull strands. The restorative formula results in soft, more manageable tresses. ( It's a good leave in,but I have this other Leave In I will begin to try, Parnevu Leave In Conditioner for Extra Dry Hair)
I use Parnevu T-Tree Herbal Grow for my dry scalp. On my hair I use QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturizer 8.25oz

Sorry so long....I have been in transition for about 15 months now. My hair is actually growing slower now than when I put chemicals on it. My new growth is only about 6 inches in some areas and about 3 to 4 in others. Combined with my new growth it is apl. I haven't done anything fancy with it. I just wash it 1 to 2 times per week, keep it moisturized, and my scalp oiled. I keep it either in a ponytail or in a beanie/beenie (?). I am almost ready to BC. I have alopecia so I don't feel comfortable enough to wear braids, Bantu knots,.and other cute styles so I am doing the long transition.
I use As I Am products. I really like their ingredients and their smoothing gel is fantastic on my hair.

Another noob
New here.
I'm a once straight-haired girl finally coming to terms with my new curly locks.
Transition started probably about a year or so ago, either just due to hormone changes from age (26 now) or from my thyroid crapping out on me.
Found this site yesterday and classified myself as a 2A. I had mostly soft S waves on the top layers, which a few spirals on the bottom (nape of neck) area of my hair.
Went out and bought a "no-poo" shampoo and a CG approved conditioner/styling spray and followed the tips/instructions on this site.
My S waves from yesterday are now full spirals (except for my bangs, because they're too short to make a full revolution). Excited to see how much further my hair will curl once I get all this bad buildup out of here.
Going to get a new hair dryer/diffuser today because the diffuser I have for my existing hair dryer won't attach for some reason. :/
As a side note, I noticed there's a "gender" and "ethnicity" section of my profile, yet nowhere to edit that information. Am I missing something there?
Thanks!
- Kelly

Just want to say that I discovered Batia and Aleeza Salon in Beverly Hills. Not only does Batia give a great haircut that frames your face, but their products are wonderful for curly hair. My hair is super healthy and grows like crazy and is no longer frizzy. The products are not expensive, either. The haircut is.

I think you are a 3c with a little 4a? I couldn't even tell you what mine is. My husband just says I am from Mars! I think I have every hair texture on my head. :-\ Very frustrating.

Heylo!! I've been trolling the forums for the past month and decided that it was time to be a participate and not just a spectator. I recently donated 10 inches of my hair to Locks of Love, but am sporting a hair style that everyone else loves except me. I do not regret my donation, but I really miss my super long tresses and have decided to grow it out. Right now my hair kind of waves in the not so attractive way. Longer though my hair was 3a and starting to curl around my ears down. It's been about 6 weeks since the bad cut and I've been taking Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins in the hopes that it will grow out faster. I'm really here for some support during this stage of hair growth and to learn all that I can about keeping it happy and healthy!

hi everyone!
I'm Shiri and I've been natural all my life...except for once when I begged my mom to let me get a relaxer at 13 y/o. Thankfully those days are gone!
I b/c ed when at 17 but then damaged my hair with the flat iron for the following years... Finally cut the heat in 2010 and my curls thank me for it.
After finishing university in 2011 I became a total PJ... still haven't found the perfect product though.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and make some contributions instead of just lurking like I have been for the past...months...

Hi everyone!
Hi everyone,
I am new to this site but I love it! I thought for some strange reason I was the only one who had hair like mine. LOL I have been wearing my hair curly for about 2 months now. I have no chemicals in my hair, no color I just stopped using a
straitening iron on it everyday and using the CG method and my hair loves me for it. I am attempting to grow my hair out. I have never had long hair in my life well besides when I wore extensions but not the same. I am 30 years old I can't believe it took me this long to love my hair. Once in junior high a girl told me "I would be pretty if I had normal hair." For some reason that stuck with me forever and believed her. Well I think my hair is above normal I think it is fantastic. Can't wait to chat with all of you.

Hello, I'm new to naturallycurly.com.
Well actually I'm not totally new, since I've been reading for some time now, but today I've decided to make an account.
I've been natural for almost 2 years now, but didn't really care about my hair that much until a couple of weeks ago, when I was looking for a way to define my natural curls/kinks. I even started a blog about my experiences with my hair.
Well I hope to learn a lot more from you all and hopefully I might be able to help you too..

Hi, I'm Kelita...I was natural for 17 years then at the age of 17 got a dry curl which was great.. came to the US to study and got a relaxer... HORRIBLE!!!! did a BC at age 21, relaxed again and now I'm "accidently" natural once more.I did my BC with a little unintentional transitioning in January and got it professionally rounded up in March. well this month. I am now learning how to properly take care of my hair and I am excited to join this forum!!!
